How I put change in motion

As a Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) - Marketing Lead, I help our clients conceptualize, realize and manage their information technology landscape.

One recent example is my work on Expo 2020 Dubai—the “world’s greatest show”—an amalgamation of physical and digital experiences. And the digital essence of this journey starts well before the gates open in October 2021.

As Marketing Lead for the project, I help manage the IT operations, enabling core digital experiences like visitor registration, tickets, call center operations and other touchpoints.

Collaboration and leading in a multicultural environment has given me ample confidence and support in delivering an end-to-end CRM-marketing project implementation of such a large-scale setup. Being part of the core team for Expo 2020 was a feather in the cap for my career growth, along with a steep learning curve.

My team includes Management Consultant Dipti Bhatia, who manages day-to-day operational activities and provides project management governance support to project managers; Client Account Leadership Senior Manager Giuseppi D’Angelo, who handles the day-to-day relationship with Expo 2020 stakeholders; and Marketing Lead Loren Naish, who capitalizes on the opportunities that come with partnering on such a huge event.

A day in my life

A day spent working with the Expo 2020 team offers immense exposure and endless learning opportunities from people who are best in class.

Here is what a typical day might entail:

  • Start with a morning run.
  • Stand-up call with my team to get organized and prioritize tasks for the day.
  • Calls with clients and stakeholders to understand new requirements and demands.
  • Work with colleagues to brainstorm the solution design for the new asks and deep-dive into my “code mode”—while consuming multiple cups of tea to help me sail through.
  • End the day with another team session to catch up on the progress we made.
  • My days culminate with a very long post-dinner walk across a nearby marina.
