HR Business Partner Manager
"I help recruit and grow the leaders of the future into Accenture through our North America Apprenticeship Program."
In my role as a Recruiting Specialist and the Recruiting Location Lead in Pittsburgh, I recruit entry-level talent into Accenture, primarily through our North America Apprenticeship Program. I joined Accenture upon graduation from Cornell University. I was accepted to the HR Talent Accelerator Program (TAP), a highly selective, two-year rotational program for aspiring HR leaders. This program really launched my career in human resources.

I was part of the first TAP class at Accenture. This program allowed me to see Accenture from a lot of different viewpoints, including different countries. My TAP experience included a summer internship in New York City at Accenture’s Metro office. After my internship, I joined Accenture as a full-time employee where I had the opportunity to live and work in Frankfurt, Germany. The TAP global assignment is a very exciting part of the program. I was able to immerse myself in the culture and gain first-hand experience into how HR practices differ overseas.
TAP has prepared me for success in my current role and instilled a strong desire to continue to learn and grow. I have built a solid network in my local office and around the globe. I feel comfortable speaking up in any meeting and truly believe in the value of diverse thought to drive innovation. TAP has been a wonderful boost to my HR career, enabling me to see what area of the discipline best fits my particular talent and skills.
One of the most meaningful projects that I worked on during one of my TAP rotations was an internal project called “Truly Human.” At the time, we were launching a new cultural initiative for the entire company of 500,000+ people. It took several years to see the work we implemented actually become imbued throughout our culture.
Today, that work touches every Accenture person and every aspect of our business. Now you can hear our leaders talking about what it means to be Truly Human.
I am so proud to work for a company that “walks the walk” when it comes to inclusion and diversity. Check out Accenture’s “Inclusion Starts With I” video on YouTube. I’ve worked with people in this video, and I think it’s extremely powerful.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me on the golf course or the driving range or doing things with friends and family in the Pittsburgh area.
“I am so proud to work for a company that ‘walks the walk’ when it comes to inclusion and diversity.”
This may seem a cliché, but I think the most important advice I received from a mentor in the TAP program was to continue to ask questions and continue to speak up to share your own perspective. You must do that to grow as an individual. You need to have a plan for your own future. And the best way to do that is to speak candidly with your mentors.
