"I look at change through the eyes of our clients, as I help leading retail and beauty organizations digitally transform their businesses."
What I do
I help leading organizations in the retail and beauty sectors digitally transform their businesses. As a Management Consulting Manager on our Talent and Organization team, I look at change through the eyes of our clients, asking questions like: How can we help them to navigate change? How should transformation plans be communicated in the workplace? What training do people need?
We find the answers. I help client executives strategize transformation plans, and then evaluate new tools and ways of working and organizational teams to implement new practices and processes.
My projects vary considerably. I could be looking at how a client can integrate e-commerce into their store operations. Or improve the omnichannel experience. Or tackle stock management, merchandising or workforce planning issues.
As a general rule, my day is a mix of internal or client meetings, Skype and video calls, perhaps with colleagues on the West Coast, which entails adjusting to different time zones.
I devote time to personal learning, listening to podcasts and reading articles on the retail and consumer industries. I’ve had formal design-thinking training and have become LUMA certified. Since then, I’ve run well-received design-thinking workshops for both colleagues and clients. I love the clever and unique ideas that come out of these sessions. I’m also career counselor and enjoy inspiring and guiding women on their path to a successful career at Accenture.
Above all, I’m a mom. The flexible work environment is a great help. And my team knows when I have to pick my daughter up from day care or when it’s family time in the evening. But I’ll always finish a task or check emails to see if there’s anything urgent before hitting the pillow.

Have a passion for learning and trying new things. In consulting, you need to get up to speed quickly with an industry and its products. I also need to keep abreast of evolving change and learning strategies.
Be prepared to cope with ambiguity. Clients usually know what they want but they don’t know how to get there. You need to think on your feet and be an expert planner.
