As a team:
Accenture’s Sustainability Strategy Team helps our clients around the world achieve business value and sustainable impact through technology and human ingenuity. Within our sustainable finance sector, we support financial institutions to live up to their role as stewards of the transition to a sustainable economy. We help insurers, banks and funds to understand their current environmental, social and governance impacts, sharpen their purpose, and craft strategies to deliver it.  As a member of our sustainable finance team you will drive answers to the following sample C-Suite topics:


1.    Net Zero Roadmap – Can I commit my company to Net Zero? What is the financial impact?
2.    Sustainable Product Solutions – How can I help my corporate customers/investees to become green with Transition Finance Products? How can I help my retail client to improve their physical, mental and financial health?
3.    Sustainable Operations – How do I foster staff Diversity & Inclusion? How do I ensure more transparency on ESG performance in my supply chain?
4.    Data Solutions & Reporting – How do I acquire, curate, model and report ESG data?
5.    Sustainable Performance – How do I rethink performance and integrated value reporting?

On our team you will:

  • Develop and lead high performing multidisciplinary teams, leading by example, actively mentoring others and contributing to performance management and recruitment activities

  • Use your judgment to solve complex and ambiguous client business and sustainability problems, bringing structure and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques; acting and taking decisions with little management oversight

  • Develop knowledge of key sustainability trends and how they impact markets, financial performance and corporate strategy in order to identify key value opportunities for clients

  • Run Accenture’s business (including cost management, contract management, and resourcing) with discipline, rigor and integrity

  • Contribute to business development activities including opportunity identification/qualification and proposal development/presentation

  • Support practice/ community building efforts such as developing offerings, assets, capabilities, and relevant thought leadership and engage with the wider Sustainability community across Accenture globally

In this role you will:

  • Lead successful financed emissions engagements, addressing our clients’ business challenges to deliver commercial success together with positive impacts for society and the environment on topics including:

    • Sustainable finance

    • ESG investing

    • Financed emissions

    • Sustainable lending

    • Sustainability strategy

    • Sustainable growth and portfolio strategy

    • Behavioural change / nudging strategy

    • Sustainability impact assessment and business model diagnostics

    • Real-time ESG and sustainability sentiment monitoring and tracking

    • Sustainability reporting, analytics and modelling

  • Leverage your core consulting skills to understand and structure the clients’ challenges; develop hypotheses on solutions; undertake market and trends assessments and develop business cases to unlock value and enhance sustainability outcomes

  • Use your deep industry knowledge and sustainable finance expertise to advise clients on their sustainability goals and transformation

  • Build and develop client relationships and develop your own pipeline of work through opportunity identification/qualification, proposal development/presentation, and commercial contract negotiation

  • Develop and grow the capabilities of our team, acting as a mentor and coach

  • Develop assets, capabilities, and thought leadership and support the promotion of our business in the market



Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years professional experience connected to sustainable finance topics of which a minimum of 2 years in consulting type of work in roles.

  • 5 years of Relevant work experience within a financial institution such as a bank or insurance is highly valued

  • 5 years of experience with how organizations create financial and societal value in synchronization

  • 5 years of experience with the application of recognized sustainability frameworks and structured problem-solving techniques

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with quantitative analysis and business case development

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with qualitative analysis, research and stakeholder engagement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or engineering related discipline or equivalent experience 

Bonus points, if:

  • Relationship building at all levels, including with Senior Executives and C-Suite

  • Leadership of diverse teams in complex and ambiguous strategy engagements

  • Staff development and mentoring

  • Confidence to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical and impactful manner

  • Comfort leading presentations and workshops with large audiences

  • Experience working on key sustainable finance topics in the financial services industry including ESG investing; net-zero financed emissions; ESG reporting, analytics and modelling; ESG impact assessment; Sustainable growth and portfolio strategy; insurance and banking

  • Extensive experience at a top tier strategy or boutique sustainability consulting firm

  • Experience in financial modelling, business case development and ESG tracking, reporting and modelling technologies

  • Experience with climate-related financial disclosure standards and frameworks such as TCFD, PCAF, SBTi or PAII

  • Experience of using digital technologies to solving clients’ complex business and sustainability problems

  • Master’s Degree preferred

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
