Job Description

The Program Manager will improve organization performance and achieve program goals by developing and executing end-to-end project management activities. Demonstrate creativity and flexibility when creating and driving project plans and estimates, scope and requirements from implementation to deployment. Proactively manage and report on execution of deliverables. Master communicators across multiple stakeholders aligning priorities and direction. This role will be an integral part of the PMO organization, whose focus is to help Accenture’s customers with their project needs and Digital Transformation journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a portfolio of complex programs and projects (internal and client facing) that span one or more specialties 

  • Manage the program/project from scoping and requirements through deployment for an end-to-end project or specific area of a project (e.g. build or test)

  • Serve as T4 escalation point for both internal and client programs and projects

  • Proactively manage and monitor execution of deliverables and status in an effective manner

  • Coach, mentor, and motivate members of PMO and Project Teams

  • Lead technology team members involved in complex programs under your management

  • Understand the fundamental solution being developed/deployed its business value, blueprint, how it fits with the overall architecture or business operations, risks, etc 

  • issues to management which cannot be resolved at the program/project level

  • Ensure resolution of cross segment/team project issues, risks, and/or conflicts Manage critical path, dependencies, contingency and overall budget performance (e.g. Estimate At Completion (EAC) vs. budget)

  • Proactively eliminate critical path road blocks to help ensure successful delivery of the solution

  • Ensure the project stakeholders' expectations are understood and managed

  • Report and manage overall project/release status back to the project sponsor and stakeholders

  • Take responsibility for end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring timely delivery of high quality project deliverables through effective team communications and focus on quality

  • Define the project iteration strategy. Manage and evaluate iterations

  • Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected team members

  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations

  • Manage relationships with all suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor their progress and adherence to the contract

  • Ensure that the project team follows all quality assurance processes, including periodic reviews and transitions

  • Participate in quality management review

Career Level Expectations:

  • Requires identifying and assessing complex problems for area of responsibility.  Creates solutions in situations in which analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Requires adherence to strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near-term goals.

  • Interaction is with senior management at a client and/or within Accenture, involving matters that may require acceptance of an alternate approach.

  • Some latitude in decision-making.  Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments  

  • Decisions have a major day to day impact on area of responsibility

  • Manages medium-large sized teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture

  • May have supervisory responsibilities for small-medium sized teams and/or projects.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience Project Management, Program Management, Infrastructure Planning, Infrastructure/Network Management/Operations, Strategic IT Planning 

  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques 

  • Demonstratable experience (certifications a plus) in Project Management, Agile, Scrum, or SDLC methodologies  

  • Strong customer and vendor relationship management skills. 

  • Effective facilitator directing teams toward rapid resolution of complex issues

    • Continue professional development keeping abreast of emerging technologies, methods and best practices 

    • Strong people skills - negotiation, listening, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)   

Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Experience in Public Cloud Services with emphasis on Microsoft Azure

  • Extensive technical background

  • Experience in Agile methodology

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $119,880-$227,600 and information on benefits offered is here.
