Business Process Services professionals work on projects across a range of business processes, business applications and information technology. Depending on the role, Business Process Services professionals may be based at a client’s office or in one of Accenture’s 50 delivery centers around the world.
Accenture is seeking an IT Sourcing and Category Management Specialist to collaborate with external clients to develop sourcing strategies related to the IT Category. You will be expected to:
Lead sourcing and procurement solutions designed to drive spend capture
Lead client selection criteria process, supplier selection process, contract negotiation and formal bidding process
Provide industry and supplier research, market intelligence and financial analyses to client
Support development of market insights from cross-client sourcing activity and collaborate with the Procurement Category function
You will master project management skills and deepen category-specific knowledge to bring added value to sourcing projects and advance career development. This role will work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to deliver significant results.
Lead complex sourcing projects
Pursue and develop strong stakeholder relationships
Make a significant impact from a client satisfaction standpoint with your projects
Lead teams by example through the delivery of outstanding projects
Understand client’s business needs to develop optimal sourcing solution
Lead and facilitate (with the client’s cross-functional team) the selection criteria for supplier selection and evaluations
Design and develop relevant RFP documents for projects or make recommendations for incumbent negotiations
Negotiate agreement with supplier and incorporate best practice metrics for agreements to aid the Category Management process in supplier relationship management activities
May be responsible for contracting negotiated agreement
Develops and expands category knowledge in support of sourcing projects
Develop and deploy Sourcing offering deliverables (i.e. process templates)
Indirectly (and in certain cases directly) coach and manage Sourcing Team Members and begin to develop people (onshore and offshore) in our business
Ensure that services are provided within assigned budgets and timelines; takes actions necessary to address any issues
Provide input to Accenture best practices
Monitor and provide guidance on procurement process for categories under management
Capture and report key findings from procurement activities that can be used to gain efficiencies and or knowledge for similar engagements
Support development of subcategory market insights materials or benchmarks
Work with Client Delivery to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with contractual/service level obligations
Category Management Support:
Develop relationships with primary Procurement and Business stakeholders to proactively identify future needs / opportunities
Understand needs of incoming client requests to determine the most appropriate course of action (balancing speed of execution and value delivery)
Provide oversight of pipeline to ensure projects continue to progress, post project kick-off
Navigate client processes effectively to avoid escalations and bottlenecks
Act as the first line of escalation for issues questions from the Sourcing Project Manager or stakeholder, within the assigned category
Provide process / policy related guidance to Sourcing Project Manager or stakeholder where necessary
Lead weekly project update calls with Sourcing Project Managers and Client Category Manager
Provide summary of category specific project updates to the Client Category Manager to help streamline communications and gather feedback where needed
Here’s What You Need:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or managing suppliers
Minimum of 1 year of experience in contracting/negotiation processes and best practices
Ability to effectively lead formal strategic sourcing efforts related to IT
Solid understanding of and experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis
Excellent communication, organization/time management, and problem-solving skills
Exceptional multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple end-to-end project lifecycles
Strong project management and relationship-building skills
Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
Collaborative in nature to ensure both internal and external stakeholders are being managed and engaged when appropriate
Successful track record with clients
Adaptable management style to conform to the varied corporate cultures and organizational structures of our customers
Knowledge of procurement operations
Experience working directly with key stakeholders in business units
Ability to travel up to 30% is required to support client-related work
