Job Description

The Reinsurance Accounting Associate Manager is responsible for collateral management and schedule F reporting within the Reinsurance Finance group.

Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Internal and external reinsurance operationalization and associated financial booking
  • Broker Reinsurer reporting including statements bordereau
  • Financial reporting GAAP STAT, Schedule F etc.
  • Collateral management function
  • Work closely with financial controls unit, internal and external audit on reinsurance
  • Responsible for key reinsurance finance processes and associated controls
  • Provide expertise to various internal and external stakeholders through participation in various meetings.
  • Provide recommendations as respects reviewing optimal options and solutions to new and existing issues as they arise by leveraging knowledge of existing constraints
  • Expected to create alignment through critical thinking, direction context setting and stakeholder communications

* This is a hybrid role based in Knoxville, TN

**Will need to be onsite for training, meetings, events etc.



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in an insurance company
  • Minimum of 1 year of reinsurance experience
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing teams
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Advanced degree and/or designation in a related field a plus i.e. ARe or CPCU designations, MBA, CPA, MS, PhD, ACAS, FCAS, etc.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point and Word
  • Advanced knowledge of reinsurance including underwriting, claims, accounting, finance and associated process, controls and systems
  • Reinsurance underwriting or broking background related discipline experience such as Risk, Capital Management, or Legal
  • Advanced working knowledge of relevant trends and information within the industry
  • Advanced working knowledge of financial analysis and financial modeling
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the insurance reinsurance markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Advanced working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources
  • Technical and/or analytic expertise that can be adapted to current technologies
  • Working knowledge of systems and technology utilized within area of responsibility
  • Process transformation and control improvement experience

Professional Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with significant experience interacting with executive management and external stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, decision making, problem resolution and organizational skills

As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $96,600 to $143,900 aninformation on benefits offered is here.
