The Senior Architect decides how the site will be built based on discussions with the development team and key site stakeholders. Establishes the high-level development strategy through module selection, configuration, or customization. Focus on site wide concerns such as integration, scalability, performance, and security. Responsible for server-side configurations related to the Drupal environments we are supporting: memory usage, file systems, cache settings/varnish settings, and possibly SAML/SSO with active directories. Identifies possible reusable components and helps engineer them. Team resource, giving direction and advice to other developers on team and responsible for reviewing design and implementation decisions.

Qualifications

Basic Skills & Qualifications:

•Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously (multi-task) is a must.
•Experience leading a team of 2+ developers.
•General understanding of project management principles. (Agile, Iterative, Waterfall)
•Analyze customer documentation and talk with stakeholders to gather system requirements.
•Provide task estimates
•Identifying technical risks
•Collaborate with Project Managers to evaluate project scheduling and resource planning.
•Draft technical plans and functional specification.
•Participate in daily and weekly status meetings
•Lead customer discussions advising on technical problem solving and solutions during project status meetings.
•Reporting time and work details on a daily basis
•Site development and documentation for long term maintenance.
•Conduct code reviews with development team members.
•Maintain release management schedules for assigned projects.

Technical
•PHP experience
•OOP PHP experience
•HTML, CSS experience
•Experience building responsive websites using Drupal, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3
•JavaScript/JQuery experience
•MySQL experience
•Social media integration experience
•Mobile Web App Development (Apple or Android)
DevOps
•Git and Git Flow useage, able to debug and correct issues with Git repositories.
•MySQL configuration and tuning.
•Linux server administration skills using command line
•Understanding of Apache/nginx configuration
•Understanding of Varnish and/or other reverse proxy caching
•Advanced knowledge of Drupal caching techniques such as Memcache, Redis and Authcache.
•Apache Solr configuration and tuning
•High availability configuration for CMS driven websites
•Experience updating core and modules.
•Experience doing site backups.
•Trouble shooting issues that occur at the server level, related to database throughput, preprocessor configuration, memory resident storage, and more.
•Exposure to regression testing:  HTML, Visual, Functional.
Validation
•Acquia Certified Developer certification, or documented examples of meeting each certification topic using a live production site built by developer.
•Primary contributor to building at least ten Drupal sites.
