Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex changes to the customer's network
  • Provide support for Security audits, assessments, design, implementation and configuration of security tools 
  • Research and provide information and security related solutions
  • Performs software evaluation and testing of new or existing security solutions 
  • Functions as a third level support resource to respond to Incidents or perform troubleshooting; required to support 24x7 pager duty on a rotating schedule.
  • Install, configure and operate networks in highly complex environments with specific protocols and instruct and direct those doing these tasks 
  • Support scanning for vulnerabilities and compliance with defined security settings at the operating system, web, application, and database layers
  • Collaborate with system owners, IT project managers, and other DevOps engineers to identify and resolve the causes of delayed patching
  • Develop communication materials to document the security status of each application and progress in addressing vulnerabilities and configuration misconfigurations
  • Deploying, testing, maintaining, patching, and operating security tools

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Work in a team environment and have proven technical ability in LAN/WAN design and implementation as well as a understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols 
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years related work experience.
  • Experience providing security device support for Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) or a Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst
  • Experience with Linux, databases, applications, and platforms
  • Experience supporting a variety of security tools to include Anti-Virus, Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls, Active Directory, Web Proxies, Vulnerability Assessment tools, and other security tools found in large enterprise network environments; along with experience working with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions
  • Familiarity with various network and host-based security applications and tools, such as network and host assessment/scanning tools, network and host-based intrusion detection systems, and other security software packages
  • Previous experience working in a large government or corporate enterprise environment is a requirement
  • Knowledge of the latest security threats, techniques, and exploits targeting vulnerabilities
  • Experience with network, web, and information security
  • Knowledge of common IT technologies (OS, databases, network devices, applications)
  • Proven experience with scripting (either in bash, python or other).
  • Agile experience with Scrum and/or Kanban a plus
An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
