The IR Security Engineer will be responsible for the following:
  • Remain current on cyber security trends and identify threats to internal assets
  • Work with internal teams to tune security alerting and monitoring capabilities
  • Participate in incident response efforts by performing log reviews and impact assessments
  • Develop incident response playbooks and review automation options to reduce repetitive tasks
  • Leverage internal tools to detect and triage threats (such as AV Management Consoles (e.g., McAfee, Symantec, TrendMicro), FIM Tools (e.g., Tripwire, Trustwave, Verisys), Log Analysis, Scripting etc.)
  • Run Splunk searches and hunt for notable events or enhanced detection methods
  • Correlate internal log data against external threat intelligence feeds

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Technical Bachelor's Degree (i.e. Information Systems, Computer Science) OR 3 Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • 3 years of Teamwork Experience in a work environment
  • US Citizenship Required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge or experience working with Splunk Enterprise Security and development of rules
  • Familiarity with common security flaws and vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and basic network concepts
  • Familiarity with penetration testing tools or security distros such as Kali
  • Experience hunting proactively for threats within an enterprise
  • Knowledge of common threat vectors and exfiltration techniques
  • Security+

  • GCIH
  • CEH
  • ECIH
An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
