Job Description

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:
Provides solutions to complex business problems for area(s) of responsibility where analysis of situations requires an in depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
Involved in setting strategic direction to establish near term goals for area of responsibility.
Interacts with senior management levels at a client and/or within Accenture, which involves negotiating or influencing on significant matters.
Has latitude in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
Decisions have a lasting impact on area of responsibility with the potential to impact outside area of responsibility.
Manages
large teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture.

 

Responsibilities of the Connecticut Public Senior Manager may include:

  • Interact at the core of originating, shaping and delivering transformation projects to respond to our clients business challenges.
  • Lead a range of activities from building strategic relationships, identifying opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency of our clients operations to project managing the business solution implementation.
  • Shape and Deliver Business Transformation Projects Identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our public sector industry clients based on research and analysis activities and an understanding of client visions, performance gaps, and needs.
  • Shape and lead the business solution implementation defining and supervising business architecture, process design and development activities, developing capabilities and performance measurements KPIs.
  • Develop implementation plans and leading teams to execute project deliverables to schedule, budget and performance goals.
  • Manage project financials.
  • Assess and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle and make adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure planned business outcomes are achieved.
  • Direct business pilots and client deployment activities.
  • Design the projects overall communication strategy and approach to organizational change
  • Client Relationship Development and Management Building and manage key client stakeholder relationships and lead communications at all stages of the project.
  • Facilitate complex meetings, presentations and workshops to build client commitment for the change.
  • Cultivate follow-on opportunities at clients and develop compelling business case proposals for new business opportunities at existing and new clients.
  • Participate in practice building activities e.g. conference participation, thought leadership development, market offering development, recruiting.
  • Identify and begin developing expertise in specific practice specialty areas to drive firm recognized expertise development.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues. 
  • Travel Ability to meet travel requirement, up to 100% within the state of CT.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Public Sector
  • Minimum of 5 years of Public Sector management consulting experience  in targeted public service sectors: integrated eligibility, pensions, child welfare, child support, unemployment insurance, administration

Preferred Skills

  • Masters Degree in Public Policy or Masters in Business Administration
  • Leadership experience in a human services, administration, transportation or citizen facing organization

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Solid financial acumen and financial analysis and diagnosis skills
  • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Adept at using experience and knowledge of industry, geographic and technology trends to assess and shape business solutions
  • Proven ability to mobilize and energize project teams to deliver results. Strong executive level relationship building skills.
