Acts independently under general direction. Provides technical leadership for Oracle database management areas and Application Support. Supports application software maintenance (On-Call Rotation), including performance tuning and availability analysis, complex software upgrades and troubleshooting patching anomalies. Provides technical assistance and advice on complex activities. Modifies, and maintains complex systems and subsystems, using vendor products and utilities for overall system operations. Works actively with vendors such as Oracle and Pega to resolve complex application software issues or plan help planning future work. Works actively with DOJ SDS and OCIO groups to troubleshoot application and database related issues. Apply analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing technology solutions, and developing procedures to resolve required programs. Analyzes methods of approach. Researches new vendor products and upgrade releases and patches. Compares alternatives, prepares recommendations for system improvement for management and user consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 years with working with Oracle 12c RAC Database Administration and Technical Architecture, including but not limited to database administration, ASM Storage, SCAN Listener, RMAN backup and recovery, Performance Tuning, Database Refreshes from Prod to Lower Envs, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12/13c with installation and configuration of emails and alerts
  • 2+ years with UNIX/AIX 
    preferred--Understanding of Oracle OBI applications, middleware, and systems administration
  • 10+ years of experience with specialized software products and/or technologies
  • Knowledge of DOJ’s JCON II Standard Architecture, and DOJ Enterprise Architecture standards preferred
  • Familiarity with system requirements necessary to support initiatives presented in the DOJ IT Strategic Plan 
  • Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure implementation 
  • 2 years experience team lead or supervisory experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle 12c RAC DBMS experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle 11g and 12c Fusion Middleware products including; WebLogic Application Server, IDM (OAM, OHS, OID), PFRD (Portal, Forms, Reports, and Discoverer), and workflows, providing environment maintenance, and troubleshooting support

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
