The essential functions of the Business Analyst are to analyze existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and design improved processes while identifying and defining detailed product requirements and use cases to ensure efficiency and quality throughout the operation. The Business Analyst is expected to perform the following activities:

• Talk to business owners and users to understand the business systems in the customer environment.

• Facilitate meetings to gather requirements and create user stories.

• Actively participate in creating the best possible product for the client through active participation in peer reviews, retrospectives and spikes.

• Shepherd projects through software life cycle processes to get them to production.

• Actively participate in problem solving, continuous improvement, and demonstrate strong dedication to quality and communication.

• Serve as a liaison to the business community and participate in user and task analysis to maintain the customer 's perspective while maintaining client relationships at peer level.

• Create user stories for agile software development.

The Business Analyst should demonstrate strong communicating skills while engaging in frequent client interactions as well as assist team members in cost reduction, knowledge capital and work product/service improvement activities. The Business Analyst will also assist in identifying issues and providing status of scope of work while understanding role and responsibilities of self and team and how they contribute to business objectives.


Basic Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or other technical major, OR at least 4 years of recent project management/business operations/business process experience
  • 1 year of business process experience supporting software development
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Familiarity with Communication Plans and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)


Preferred Skills:

  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Effectively develop, refine and document as-is and to-be processes
  • Strong problem solving skills to assess process gaps and recommend best practice solutions
  • Perform analysis and projects to improve overall quality of work products and processes
  • Ability to maximize efficiency by managing time and workload
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Visio


An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
