Job Description

Delivery Lifecycle professionals envision, estimate, define, build and deploy Accenture´s solutions using standard delivery assets to improve client´s delivery approach.

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:
Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals.
Interacts with senior management at a client and/or within Accenture on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach.
Has some latitude in decision-making. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
Decisions have a major day to day impact on area of responsibility.
Manages large - medium sized teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture.


The Virtual Infrastructure Operations Manager oversee’s the delivery of the virtual infrastructure service for a large outsourcing group within Accenture focused on high availability for mission-critical application support.  Team services an international client base with 6 Data Center locations in the US, APAC, and EMEA. Team is distributed across stratigic international locations utilizing a follow the sun support model.
A successful candidate has a proven track record leading diverse global teams in a mission critical, highly available, environment.  Ensures that services are delivered in accordance with client expectations and service level agreements.  Coordinates the delivery of services from the associated technical and service control teams, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality operation; manages numerous, complex projects requiring high-level capabilities with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for operations of all Virtual Infrastructure including VMWare ESXi, NSX, vRealize Tool Suites, and Citrix XenApp/VDI through a global delivery team of 30+ resources.
  • Demonstrate agility in supporting/adjusting to shifting business priorities.
  • Follow strategic direction of senior management and act independently to make decisions that will have a major impact on day to day operations and delivery of services.
  • Provide escalation for Virtual Infrastructure operations team in interpreting and troubleshooting critical service impacting incidents.  Communicate updates with Sr. Leadership.
  • Ensure Virtual Infrastructure complies with security standards and process framework; driving adherence to incident/change/problem processes is central to the role.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to guide and manage all operational tasks and issues. Prioritize work efforts to align with business needs.
  • Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.
  • Conduct mid-year and yearly reviews according to the Accenture’s standard review process. 
  • Forecast 12-24 months in advance for required CapEx and OpEx needs, provide a yearly budget to leadership and manage to it.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of Information Technology Management experience in Operations or a Delivery role.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing diverse global teams.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical aptitude and broad IT experience with technology depth.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, troubleshooting and virtual technologies administration experience with Virtual Infrastructure, VMWare ESXi, vRealize Tools suite administration, Underlying NSX infrastructure supporting micro-segmented networking, Citrix XenApp Farms, VDI technology for secure remote access.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Experience in Service Delivery operation in a large enterprise or outsourcing provider; knowledge/exposure of the business sensitivity of an aviation services provider to virtual infrastructure related outages is highly desirable.

  • Ability to communicate at the client, senior leadership and business stakeholder levels.
  • Effective facilitator directing teams toward rapid resolution of complex issues.
  • Strong people skills - negotiation, listening, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, organization, multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Able to fulfill the required Work Type, Location and Hours requirements.
  • ITIL understanding or v3 Foundation course specifically Service Transition, Service Operation and Continual Service Improvement.
