Role Summary:
As the product owner you’re the team level representative for the customer and stakeholder; you’re main job is to ensure that value (as defined by the customer and stakeholder) is delivered by the development team. You’re goal is to deliver and implement priority features as defined by the program backlog – vision and delivered through the team backlog. Your job is to deliver the program feature by breaking features into manageable pieces of work with the end user in mind – these pieces of work are known as user stories and enablers and are then executed by the development team. As product owner, you’re responsible for accepting, and rejecting user stories on behalf of the end user.
 
Role Description
  • Solution, technology, and team facing
  • Collocated with development team
  • Owns Team Backlog and implementation; Contributes to Vision & Program Backlog
  • Drives Iteration Goals and Iteration content via prioritized Stories
  • Establishes Story acceptance criteria, accepts Stories
  • Address inquires from the development team regarding Stories & acceptance criteria
  • Coordinates dependencies and fosters collaboration
  • Implements and delivers value
  • Act as single voice for the Customer and stakeholders
  • Responsible for final decision on scope and content at the Team Level
  • Usually reports indirectly to a Product Manager
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile delivery environment
  • 1+ year experience in a consulting/client facing role
  • 1+ years of experience using agile software such as Rally, Jira. 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Travel Required
 
SET YOURSELF APART: Preferred Skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research
  • Expert knowledge of design and prototyping tools such as Axure or Sketch
  • Experience creating specifications and style guides to supplement prototypes and wireframes for our implementation partners
  • Ability to deliver designs in an Agile development model
  • Proficient in a variety of methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g. storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, etc)
  • Ability to create assets within design systems including defining what, when, and how components should be used across applications
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
  • Must be organized, analytical, and dynamic
  • Experience in data driven design a plus
  • Seek out opportunities for self-development.
  • Effectively manage administration such as time reporting, expense submission etc.
  • Engage with and work within changing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Develop and maintain open honest and trusting relationships.
  • Continually strive to exceed client expectations.
  • Communicate in a clear, consistent and transparent manner.
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment & materials provided.
