System Administrator supporting a Federal Government client program. The program will deploy a financial system that supports modernized business processes and information exchanges. The administrator will interface with the project team resources, including the FSO and ISSM, to meet and comply with system requirements. The administrator will also contribute to routine operations and maintenance of the network on-site system. Specific duties include:

  • Install and configure software and hardware.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, applications, security updates and patches.
  • Create, modify and disable user accounts as needed and configure different accounts per guidelines.
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages.
  • Write/maintain system/service documentation and procedures.
  • Develop, implement and maintain security controls and supporting documentation as required for risk management framework (RMF).
  • Support security incident reporting, vulnerability assessments, and information assurance compliance scans.
  • Off hour administrative support maybe required.
  • Assist in developing redundancy plans for critical systems.
  • Enforce SIPRNet security guidance policies as provided by DISA, DSS, USCYBERCOM, Department of the Army, and other relevant regulations.
  • Assist with required Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) scanning and vulnerability assessments with DoD approved software.
  • Work with the Configuration Control Board (CCB) for approval of all patches and major updates/changes.
  • Manage and support Active Directory, WSUS and RADIUS.
  • Implement and test IS and data backup procedures for integrity.
  • Prepare for a CCRI or other government inspections and conduct self-assessments in advance of inspection to ensure all applicable CND Directives and applicable IA policies for the IS are in compliance.
  • Implement all applicable DISA STIGs to SIPR Network to enhance security for software, hardware, physical and logical architectures to further reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Administer the ePolicy server and maintain current anti-virus (AV) engines and definitions on all servers and workstations.
  • Complete and maintain all required training and certifications for the program and administrative accesses.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, etc.) or equivalent experience. In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree an additional 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of configuring, optimizing, testing, and managing network servers, desktops, printers, hubs, routers, switches and applications to ensure they comply with security policy, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Must have CE Certifications or certificates of training for at least one of the operating systems (Windows or Linux).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 Years of supporting implementation of network security systems (firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), scanning software, etc.).
  • Experience with Splunk, McAfee HBSS/ESS, ACAS (Tenable SecurityCenter and Nessus), Linux Administration, VMWare, Active Directory, WSUS, and/or RADIUS.
  • Experience with SIPRNet or other classified networks.
  • Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) methodology for standardizing security protocols within networks, servers, computers, and logical designs to enhance overall security.
  • Familiar with security controls and supporting documentation as required for C&A/DIACAP/ICD 503/ NIST/FIPS, etc.

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
