YOUR ROLE: Executive Positioning and Communications Lead, North America

The Executive Positioning and Communications Lead, North America will be responsible for leading and contributing to a range of content-led projects, many of which cut across the company’s businesses.


Accenture is investing significantly in transforming the nature of its content marketing as a critical program to underpin our Executive Positioning and Communications programs This transformation is raising expectations and resulting in powerful output that balances in-depth insights and research with consumable and shareable digital assets.  It also requires a more disciplined and market savvy approach to narrative development.


Bringing your knowledge of latest digital business trends, you will craft stories create attention and build lasting impact. The story topics will include Artificial Intelligence, blockchain, innovation, technology, digital platforms, and workforce strategies in the age of digital. They often involve preparing for exploitation of the content at high profile events, for media opportunities and arming our North America leadership team with relevant, clear and compelling speaking platforms.


We are looking for an experienced, innovative, senior level marketing & communications professional to join our dynamic team.


While there will never be a typical day at Accenture, here is a look at some of your responsibilities:

  • Translate ideas into powerful and differentiating initiatives that drive awareness, consideration and preference gains and communicate the full breadth and depth of Accenture’s capabilities and industry expertise
  • Develop thought-leadership communications strategy, positioning, planning, engagement, and content development for senior client executives and leaders 
  • Proactively build strategic plans and identify, evaluate, and pursue influencer engagement opportunities that drive organizational strategy and increase brand awareness for C-suite level leaders
  • Develop core content that is authentic as well as purpose driven while adhering to both corporate and personal brand identities 
  • Develop executive speeches and inspiring, motivating and differentiating strategic message platforms, including positioning, crafting storylines and talking points
  • Counsel client senior leadership in articulating their vision, strategy, and brand story in an effective way that engages with their key audiences 
  • Integrate executive positioning campaigns seamlessly with external and internal communications goals
  • Quickly evaluate and capitalize on “of the moment” executive communication opportunities
  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, in-house creative, digital and content development teams and work productively with all other individuals and groups as well as external vendors.
  • Ability to function effectively and influence highest levels of leadership within a highly-matrixed organization and to align with company’s global brand and its approach to teamwork and collaboration
  • Effective negotiation and consensus building skills to resolve complex challenges across teams both within Accenture and in outside alliances and clients


YOUR EXPERIENCE: Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or other four-year university degree
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in marketing & communications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience digital marketing and social media

  • Content Marketer: Exceptionally strong content marketing skills applied to the the latest marketing approaches and technologies to create stories that suit multiple audiences: from clients to media
  • Experience analyzing, disseminating and communicating complex information and developing clear "market ready" messages
  • Innovative, proactive, executive presence: An innovative and proactive thinker with outstanding communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with senior leadership; constantly bringing forward new ideas and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Strong Writing Skills: Expertise in writing and developing content, including synthesizing complex business and technology topics and writing new pieces ranging from talking points to key messages to PowerPoint presentations to blogs to social media posts and beyond. Exceptional message development and writing skills required
  • Business acumen: Strength in understanding a range of business and technology issues with an ability to interpret complex data
  • Innovation and Collaboration: The ability to guide non marketers, such as Accenture Research, on the development of content. The ability to manage / work with creative partners (digital creative agencies, social media, media partnerships)
  • Proven track record: Demonstrated success in leading large scale programs and the ability to work successfully in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders; flexibility and agility to act fast and be responsive to changing business needs. The ability to function effectively within a matrixed organization, providing counsel to business leaders and to marketing colleagues
  • Previous media relations skills could be of value, but not critical

  • Role is expected to regularly work out of an Accenture office location in New York City or Washington, DC
