Summary
Workday Data Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and optimizing the data architecture that underpins Workday HCM, Finance, Prism Analytics, Accounting Center, reporting, and downstream integrations. This role ensures data accuracy, lineage, security, and accessibility, enabling high quality analytics and operational excellence across HR and Finance functions. The architect partners closely with business, analytics, integrations, and security teams to design scalable, trusted data ecosystems and to drive transformation through governed Workday centric data models.

What you'll do
Define the Workday data architecture blueprint, spanning Workday core objects, FDM (Foundation Data Model), Prism datasets, Accounting Center structures, and cross system integrations.
Govern data mapping, transformations, and consumption models across business domains (HR, Finance, Payroll).
Align data designs with compliance requirements (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA) and maintain auditability across pipelines.
Coordinate tightly with HCM/Payroll/Finance functional leads, integration developers, reporting teams, data conversion, and analytics (e.g., Prism) to ensure cohesive, end to end solutions.
Lead workshops to gather requirements, map data flows, and align data strategies with enterprise goals.
Prerequisite — Agentic AI & GenAI
Prepare and register AI consumable data views with clear semantics, lineage, and access controls to support GenAI capabilities
Collaborate with analytics and platform teams to instrument anomaly detection, drift monitoring, and explainability over AI infused pipelines
Lead executive and design workshops, turn business objectives into a value prioritized Workday data roadmap, and mentor data engineers/analysts on Workday centric patterns.
Lead optimization initiatives where AI insights improve throughput, reduce manual interventions, and reduce operational costs.
What you'll bring
13+ years in data architecture/engineering with proven experience in Workday centric data models (core objects + FDM) strong client-facing delivery ownership.
Lead complex ETL/ELT design and conversion pipelines using Clover especially for Workday HCM or Finance data loads, mass transformations, mapping, and cleansing.
Strong knowledge of Workday reporting sources (Advanced/Matrix/Composite, RaaS/APIs) and integration data foundations
Security leadership using Workday Security
Familiarity with modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Talend, GCP Data Flow etc.,) for external data blending.

Breadth: Workday Core HCM/FINS plus modules adopted by the client: Payroll, Time Management, Absence, Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Compensation, Accounting Center, Procurement
