The mid-1980s saw a rapid expansion of our manufacturing practice. As the 1980s ended, our organization took its first step in becoming Accenture.

Once becoming Andersen Consulting, our new corporate identity went international, and we expanded our Executive Committee.

We adopted the name "Accenture" and became a publicly traded company, turning most of our employees into investors in our business and future.

Accenture experienced explosive growth, doubling its profits, multiplying its headcount to 505,000, and ensuring business across 51 countries.
