Every day, I do what I enjoy most – solve problems. I’m an engineer by training and it’s great to be able to bring some of the principles I learned to my role. And being in consulting at Accenture, I’m right at the heart of all the disruption happening in the industry.
You might think that the higher you rise in consulting, the more hands-off you are on projects. That’s not my style. I’m in contact with my clients daily. I get close to them. Professional relationships become personal ones. That way I can fully understand – and address – their needs and issues.
I’m constantly reaching out to colleagues across the globe. To me, what differentiates Accenture in the market is our end-to-end capabilities. This enables us to support clients on each leg of their journey right through to implementation. If I’m stuck on something, I simply have to pick up the phone and there will be someone who can help me.
Beyond my client-facing responsibilities, I’m involved in building our team. We’re rightly proud of our commitment to diversity, and I want to ensure our team continues to reflect society. I also develop individual team members. For example, I was recently involved in a management consulting development program about employee experience.
Outside of work, my husband and I have three lovely girls. I’m North Carolina Regional Lead on the Educational Council for Massachusetts Institute of Technology – alma mater! And I’m on the board for Dress for Success in Charlotte, which aims to empower women to achieve economic independence.
