Job Summary:

As part of our Procurement and Cost Optimization function, you will play a pivotal role in driving enterprise-wide sourcing strategy, supplier collaboration, and cost transformation initiatives across direct, indirect, packaging, and services categories. You will help the organization achieve sustainable cost leadership by reimagining procurement as a strategic enabler of growth and innovation, while ensuring supply resilience, quality, and ESG compliance.
 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership
  • Define and implement category strategies across raw materials, packaging, indirect spend, logistics, and services to deliver sustained cost advantage for our clients
  • Conduct spend analysis, supplier market intelligence, and benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities and supply base optimization.
  • Drive supplier consolidation, localization, and alternate sourcing to enhance resilience and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Cost Reduction, Value Engineering & Innovation
  • Lead structured cost reduction programs, leveraging tools such as value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), should-cost modeling, design-to-value, and demand management.
  • Partner with R&D, operations, and finance to implement design simplification, specification rationalization, and process optimization initiatives
  • Develop and monitor annual cost savings pipeline with clear governance and realization tracking
  • Supplier Development & Negotiation Excellence
  • Identify, onboard, and develop strategic suppliers capable of supporting cost, quality, and innovation objectives.
  • Lead high-impact commercial negotiations and contract structuring to deliver maximum value and mitigate risk.
  • Establish supplier performance management frameworks including KPIs, scorecards, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Digital Procurement & Analytics
  • Drive adoption of digital procurement platforms and e-sourcing tools to improve transparency, speed, and compliance.
  • Build data-driven insights into category strategies, supplier performance, and cost models through advanced analytics and dashboards.
  • Use predictive and prescriptive analytics for demand forecasting, price trend monitoring, and risk sensing.
  • Sustainability, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Embed sustainability and ESG principles into sourcing decisions, including carbon footprint reduction, responsible sourcing, and circular economy practices.
  • Conduct supply risk assessments and build mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity and resilience.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical, and company standards across the supplier base.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Transformation Leadership
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on sourcing strategy, cost optimization roadmap, and supplier innovation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, R&D, finance, and marketing teams to align procurement priorities with business goals.
  • Drive procurement transformation initiatives including process re-engineering, policy development, governance frameworks, and capability building.
  • Business Development & Value Creation
  • Support the origination and execution of procurement-led value creation initiatives beyond cost – such as cash flow improvement, working capital optimization, and speed-to-market acceleration.
  • Develop compelling business cases and investment justifications to secure leadership alignment and funding.

Professional & Technical Skills:

Must Have Skills:

  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and procurement transformation in the consumer goods sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering cost savings through supplier negotiations, VA/VE, and sourcing strategies.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience in should-cost and TCO modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with supplier development, contracting, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Good to Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with digital procurement platforms (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer etc) and advanced analytics tools.
  • Exposure to ESG-focused procurement strategies and sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience with procurement process re-engineering and automation.

They will combine deep category expertise with strategic thinking and hands-on execution to deliver measurable business value and transform procurement into a key driver of growth and competitive advantage.
 

Experience: Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience

Educational Qualification: B.Tech /BE / MBA preferred
