As a Health Summer Consultant, you will combine healthcare and public health knowledge with structured problem solving, data, and emerging technologies to help payer and provider clients improve how they operate, serve patients and members, and deliver outcomes. 

  

Advanced Degree Health Summer Consultant 

As a Health Summer Consultant, you will become part of a client-serving team and contribute to meaningful project work throughout the summer. Working alongside experienced consultants and client stakeholders, you will apply your healthcare knowledge, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities to help develop practical solutions to complex challenges. Through hands-on experience, training, coaching, and feedback, you will build foundational consulting and delivery skills. 

  

Your Role as a Health Summer Consultant 

There is no typical day at Accenture. Depending on the client, project, and business need, your responsibilities may include: 

Project management and transformation delivery 

  • Support the planning, design, and implementation of health programs, processes, and technology-enabled solutions 
  • Contribute to project plans, timelines, process maps, analyses, and status materials. 
  • Complete defined project activities and analyses, coordinating with team members to meet established milestones 
  • Help translate client objectives and requirements into practical recommendations and deliverables 

Stakeholder engagement and client collaboration 

  • Participate in client interviews, working sessions, and workshops to gather information and understand stakeholder needs 
  • Collaborate with client and Accenture team members through clear communication, reliable delivery, and thoughtful problem solving 
  • Support project updates by documenting progress, findings, risks, decisions, and next steps 

Analytics, performance, and continuous improvement 

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends, assess performance, and develop insights 
  • Support the definition and tracking of performance measures related to operations, user experience, and business value 
  • Use data and process analysis to identify opportunities to improve healthcare operations, experiences, and outcomes 

Communication and storytelling 

  • Use structured problem-solving and storytelling approaches to communicate findings clearly 
  • Develop concise presentations, analyses, recommendations, and other client-ready work products 
  • Present work to project team members and incorporate feedback to strengthen deliverables 

Industry knowledge, innovation, and professional development 

  • Build knowledge of healthcare trends, regulatory developments, emerging technologies, and industry practices 
  • Explore and responsibly apply emerging technologies, including generative AI, to support research, analysis, and solution development 
  • Contribute to practice initiatives, proposals, offerings, or reusable assets when opportunities arise 
  • Seek coaching and feedback, share knowledge, and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team environment

What we’re looking for 

 We are looking for curious, collaborative problem solvers who bring healthcare knowledge, learning agility, and a desire to develop practical solutions. Successful candidates are comfortable learning in a fast-paced environment, working with multidisciplinary teams, and seeking and applying feedback. 

The internship program starts in June and runs approximately 10 weeks.   

 

This role involves working in person—either at our offices, client sites, or delivery centers—so you can collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with teammates and clients.  

 

Please note that with all of our roles, you should expect to be in-person for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities.

Basic Qualifications  

  • Advanced Degrees concentrating in Health Administration (e.g., MHA, MHSA, MPH, or similar healthcare-focused advanced degree)  
  • Anticipated graduation date (at the time of application) of December 2027 through August 2028 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • 1-3 years of industry or relevant work experience before beginning your graduate degree 
  • Healthcare, public health, functional, or strategic experience 
  • Experience using data and process analysis to create organizational value 
  • Exposure to AI, analytics, financial analysis, or data modeling 
  • Strong problem-solving, structuring, analytical, and synthesis skills 
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Project management proficiency and experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and collaboration tools 
  • Demonstrated leadership, learning agility, and ability to contribute effectively in a team-oriented environment 
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, managing ambiguity, and adapting to evolving client needs 
  • Experience working with global or multidisciplinary teams 
  • Flexibility to accommodate client travel requirements, when applicable

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
