Join Halfspace’s Strategy & Execution Team: Associate Engagement Manager (Part-Time, Student Position)
At Halfspace, part of Faculty, we help organisations use artificial intelligence to make better, more informed decisions, faster. We began by predicting outcomes in live football matches and have since delivered more than one hundred AI and data projects across industries, earning international recognition for our work.
What truly defines us is our people. Builders and practitioners who learn fast, challenge each other kindly, and bring genuine curiosity about hard problems. Our team brings together expertise across physics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, operations research, computer science, chemistry, economics, biology, design, and strategy. Halfspace is focused on deep expertise in applied AI. We describe our approach as "inch wide, mile deep".
As an Associate Engagement Manager (part-time) in our Strategy and Execution team, you will sit close to live consulting work and learn how AI strategy actually gets done. This is a student position, designed to fit alongside a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and the role is built around supporting project teams on real client engagements: research, structured analysis, slide work, and the kind of synthesis that helps senior consultants make sharper recommendations. You are here to learn the craft alongside people who do it every day.
Day to day, the work shifts as projects move. One week, it might be a piece of desk research on how a sector is adopting AI. The next, building a deck for client discussion on building a MVPs within their infrastructure. Joining client workshops to see how AI conversations land at the executive level is part of the picture too. Studies come first; the role is designed to flex around exam periods and deadlines.
You will work alongside consultants, engineers, scientists, and strategists, contributing to the same projects but at a scope that fits part-time hours. We value depth, flexibility, trust, and balance. We build a space where curious, thoughtful people can grow while working on projects that matter, alongside some of the world’s most interesting companies.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in the intersection between tech and business. We are not looking for a specific degree, but example studies could be industrial engineering (cand.polyt), digital business (cand.merc), information system (cand.merc), Design & innovation (cand.polyt), Digital innovation and mgmt. (cand.IT).
A desire to “translate” between business and tech based on a technical foundation with business flair to solve problems with AI
Curious about both AI and consulting and drawn to a role where you sit close to real client work across different industries.
Strong analytical skillset with the ability to structure data, client interviews, SME input, and frameworks into something useful.
Clear written and verbal communication, across technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfort with the consulting toolkit (slides, structured documents, basic data work), or the willingness to pick these up quickly.
Reliable and self-directed incl. managing your own hours, flag when something is unclear, and asking for help when you need it.
A collaborative default: you lift the people around you and create success within the team instead of focusing on individual performance.
We know that excellent candidates often hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement listed. Please apply if you believe you can contribute to this role, even if your background does not match every item above. We would rather see your application than miss you.
Compensation and Working Arrangements
This is an Associate Engagement Manager (part-time) position, designed for current students. Expect around 15 to 20 hours per week alongside your studies, with flexibility to scale down during exam periods. We offer a competitive student worker rate, a learning and development budget, and the chance to work on real client engagements from your first week. This is a Copenhagen-based role with preference of people coming to the office. But we want people to bring their whole self, hence we cater for flexibility around your studies and life outside work.
