Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. The role requires working closely with teams to ensure that the software meets specific business requirements while maintaining scalability and high performance. The work environment encourages the use of contemporary development frameworks and agile methodologies to adapt quickly to changing project needs and deliver effective results. Collaboration and continuous enhancement of software components are key aspects of daily activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement Battery Management System BMS application software including State of Charge SOC estimation using Extended Kalman Filter and Coulomb counting, State of Health SOH, and State of Power SOP algorithms.
2. Develop cell balancing algorithms including passive resistive balancing and active balancing using DC DC converters with thermal aware balancing strategies.
3. Implement motor control algorithms including Field Oriented Control FOC for PMSM, IPMSM, and BLDC motors, SVPWM generation, Clarke Park transforms, and PI current, speed, and torque control loops.
4. Develop On Board Charger OBC charging control software including Constant Current Constant Voltage CC CV profile management, AC charging IEC 61851, and DC fast charging CCS and CHAdeMO control sequences.
5. Implement ISO 15118 2 and 20 communication stack application layer including Plug and Charge PnC, smart charging demand response, and Vehicle to Grid V2G session management.
6. Develop Thermal Management System TMS control algorithms including battery pack thermal estimation, coolant flow PID control, and heat pump and chiller coordination.
7. Integrate High Voltage HV safety monitoring including High Voltage Interlock Loop HVIL supervision, pre charge circuit sequencing, insulation resistance monitoring, and interlock fault handling.
8. Implement AUTOSAR application layer software components for BMS, OBC, and inverter ECUs including port and interface design, RTE configuration, and inter component communication.
9. Perform software unit testing, SIL verification, and ASIL D safety mechanism testing for BMS and motor controller software modules.
10. Document software designs, algorithm specifications, and test reports in accordance with ASPICE SWE and ISO 26262 ASIL D functional safety requirements
Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Must Have Proficiency in embedded C and C plus plus and MATLAB Simulink for automotive electrification and power electronics software development
2. Must Have Knowledge of BMS algorithms including SOC SOH SOE estimation techniques EKF Coulomb counting and open circuit voltage OCV methods
3. Must Have Understanding of motor control including FOC Field Oriented Control SVPWM Clarke Park transforms for PMSM BLDC IPMSM drives
4. Must Have Experience with AUTOSAR Classic application layer including SWC design port interface and RTE configuration for automotive ECUs
5. Must Have Knowledge of charging standards including IEC 61851 1 ISO 15118 2 DIN 70121 CCS Type 1 Type 2 and CHAdeMO charging protocols
6. Must Have Understanding of ISO 26262 functional safety for ASIL C D systems including BMS safety requirements and safety mechanism design
7. Must Have Familiarity with high voltage HV safety concepts including HVIL pre charge manual service disconnect MSD and insulation monitoring
8. Good to Have Experience with electrochemical battery modelling including equivalent circuit models ECM single particle model SPM and thermal models
9. Good to Have Knowledge of power electronics including SiC MOSFET IGBT switching characteristics dead time compensation and gate driver design
10. Good to Have Familiarity with cell monitoring IC integration including TI BQ7961x Analog Devices LTC6811 6812 and NXP MC33775 via SPI daisy chain
11. Good to Have Exposure to V2G Vehicle to Grid and ISO 15118 20 AC DC bidirectional charging communication
12. Good to Have Understanding of WLTP cycle energy consumption calculation and range estimation algorithm development
Additional Information:
1. The candidate should have minimum 4 years of experience in Automotive Electrification, EV Embedded Systems like BMS, Motor Control, OBC, or Powertrain domain.
2. This position is based at our Pune office.
