DMI JIVS JiVS SAP ETL Senior Consultant
1. Application Decommissioning Strategy & Execution
Lead end-to-end application retirement/sundown initiatives using the DMI JIVS platform.
Assess legacy systems and define decommissioning roadmaps aligned with enterprise IT strategy.
Design structured and unstructured data extraction approaches prior to application sunset.
Ensure business continuity by preserving historical data access post-decommission.
Develop standardized methodologies for system retirement across multiple business units.
Support M&A carve-outs, divestitures, and data separation initiatives.
Maintain detailed decommissioning documentation and audit trails.
2. SAP Integration & Data Extraction
Design and implement data extraction strategies from SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA systems prior to system retirement.
Work with SAP FI/CO, MM, SD, and other modules to identify relevant data objects.
Configure SAP data extraction via:
o IDocs
o BAPIs
o RFC connections
o SAP reporting tables
Map SAP structured & unstructured data into JIVS archival schemas.
Validate data completeness, consistency, and reconciliation during migration.
Support SAP system carve-outs and legacy landscape consolidation programs.
Participate in SAP upgrade and transformation initiatives where archival is required.
3. ETL & Data Migration Engineering
Design and develop ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load legacy application data into DMI JIVS from SAP and Non-SAP applications.
Handle high-volume structured and semi-structured datasets.
Perform data transformation, normalization, and metadata enrichment.
Implement validation logic to ensure data integrity and auditability.
Optimize ETL performance for large-scale archival projects.
Automate repeatable migration frameworks for future decommissioning initiatives.
Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation checks.
Ensure traceability and lineage from source system to archive.
4. JIVS Platform Configuration & Administration
Configure JIVS data models, indexing, and search capabilities.
Design archival storage schemas aligned with regulatory retention policies.
Implement role-based access control and secure data access models.
Configure reporting and search interfaces for business users.
Ensure long-term data readability and accessibility independent of source applications.
Support platform upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
Maintain environment consistency across development, QA, and production.
5. Compliance, Legal Hold & Regulatory Support
Define retention and disposition policies within JIVS.
Support regulatory requirements such as:
o GDPR
o Industry-specific mandates
Implement legal hold processes and ensure tamper-proof storage.
Provide archived data retrieval support during audits or litigation.
Ensure data immutability and integrity for long-term preservation.
Maintain audit logs and compliance documentation.
6. Data Governance & Security
Ensure secure handling of sensitive data (PII, financial, operational data).
Implement encryption standards (at rest and in transit).
Integrate JIVS with enterprise IAM/SSO with MFA systems.
Enforce segregation of duties and access governance controls.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Align archival practices with enterprise data governance frameworks.
7. Performance, Scalability & Storage Optimization
Monitor archival storage growth and capacity planning.
Optimize indexing and retrieval performance.
Support cloud-based archival transitions where applicable.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, SAP teams, Infrastructure, Security, and Legal.
Translate business decommissioning requirements into technical migration plans.
Communicate archival strategy to stakeholders.
Train business users on accessing archived data post-system retirement.
Serve as SME for application retirement and archival initiatives.
Required Skills & Expertise – JIVS with SAP & ETL
JIVS / Information Management Expertise
Hands-on experience with JIVS or similar enterprise application decommissioning platforms.
Strong understanding of application retirement methodologies.
Experience configuring archive schemas, indexing models, and search frameworks.
Knowledge of long-term data preservation strategies.
Experience supporting large-scale legacy system sunset programs.
SAP Integration Skills
Strong experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
Knowledge of SAP data structures and key tables across modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, etc.).
Experience extracting SAP data using:
o IDocs
o BAPIs
o RFC
o Direct table extraction
Ability to reconcile SAP source data with archived outputs.
Experience supporting SAP carve-outs and system consolidation initiatives.
ETL & Data Engineering Skills
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise ETL tools such as:
o Informatica
o SAP Data Services
o SSIS
o Talend
o DataStage
o Or equivalent
Advanced SQL skills for large-scale data manipulation.
Experience handling structured, semi-structured, and historical datasets.
Knowledge of data profiling, transformation, and cleansing methodologies.
Experience designing scalable migration frameworks.
Understanding of data lineage and audit traceability.
Database & Infrastructure Skills
Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA).
Knowledge of indexing strategies and performance tuning.
Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN, NAS, object storage, cloud storage).
Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery design.
Compliance & Governance Knowledge
Strong understanding of data retention and regulatory frameworks.
Experience supporting audit and legal discovery requests.
Knowledge of secure archival and WORM storage principles.
Familiarity with enterprise data governance standards.
Security & Access Management
Experience implementing RBAC and access control frameworks.
Integration with enterprise IAM/SSO solutions.
Understanding of encryption and secure data transfer protocols.
Experience with sensitive data masking and redaction.
Enterprise Soft Skills
Strong documentation and migration planning skills.
Ability to manage multiple parallel decommissioning projects.
Excellent stakeholder communication across IT, Legal, and Business teams.
Detail-oriented approach to data accuracy and compliance.
