Summary:
As a DynamoDB Administrator, you will be responsible for overall NoSQL database administration on AWS, ensuring availability, scalability, and performance of DynamoDB databases supporting critical applications. You will proactively monitor database systems to ensure secure and highly available services with minimal downtime. Responsible for troubleshooting, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of database environments.
The role includes designing, implementing, and maintaining DynamoDB tables, backup/recovery strategies, and configuration management. You will also provide support for BAU activities and contribute to automation, monitoring, and operational excellence. Working knowledge of data analytics services like Amazon Athena is an added advantage.
Roles & Responsibilities:
In-depth experience in Amazon DynamoDB administration
Responsible for ensuring the availability, scalability, and performance of DynamoDB tables
Practical experience in database monitoring using CloudWatch
Proactively monitor database systems to ensure services with minimum downtime
Strong knowledge of NoSQL data modeling and access patterns
Hands-on experience in L2 and L3 support activities and troubleshooting
Provide SME support for DynamoDB-related issues
Troubleshoot performance issues (throttling, latency, hot partitions)
Good knowledge of implementing database-level security using IAM policies
Manage DynamoDB tables, indexes (LSI/GSI), and capacity modes
Configure and maintain Auto Scaling and throughput settings (RCU/WCU)
Monitor system health, usage patterns, and performance metrics
Experience in implementing backup and recovery (Point-in-Time Recovery)
Knowledge of global tables and multi-region deployments
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
Provide recommendations for performance and cost optimization
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Collaborate with application teams on data modeling and design
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
Professional & Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of NoSQL database concepts and DynamoDB architecture
Experience with performance tuning and capacity optimization
Hands-on experience with AWS services (CloudWatch, IAM, S3)
Flexible with rotation shifts in a 24*7 environment
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to document technical knowledge and processes
Experience with automation (AWS CLI, Lambda, Terraform/CloudFormation)
Good to have experience in Amazon Athena, AWS Glue, and Data Lake concepts
Strong SQL knowledge (for Athena - good to have)
Scripting knowledge (PowerShell / Python – preferred)
Experience in database automation and monitoring
Additional Information:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in AWS DynamoDB administration
Position is based at Bangalore office
Minimum of 15 years of full-time education required
Experience in Amazon Athena and data analytics services is an added advantage
Exposure to cloud-native applications and microservices architecture is preferred
