Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software applications and platform services for Automotive High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems based on Adaptive AUTOSAR architecture. Your typical day will involve collaborating with system architects, platform teams, and requirements engineers to develop scalable and high-performance software solutions for Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). You will participate in software design, coding, integration, debugging, testing, and deployment activities while ensuring compliance with automotive quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards. The role requires strong expertise in modern C++, Linux/QNX, service-oriented communication, and automotive middleware technologies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain Adaptive AUTOSAR applications and services running on Linux/QNX-based HPC platforms.
2. Design, implement, and integrate software components using Modern C++ (C++14/17/20) following industry coding standards.
3. Develop Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) applications leveraging Adaptive AUTOSAR communication frameworks.
4. Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects across distributed automotive ECU environments.
5. Collaborate with System Architects, Platform Teams, and Requirements Engineers to define and implement software solutions.
6. Develop and integrate communication services using SOME/IP, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, DDS, and MQTT protocols.
7. Perform software integration, validation, and troubleshooting activities on target automotive platforms.
8. Create and enhance unit, integration, and automated test frameworks to ensure software robustness and reliability.
9. Develop CI/CD-based software build and deployment pipelines.
10. Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
11. Monitor and improve software quality metrics including code coverage, static analysis, and defect density.
12. Support software lifecycle activities in compliance with ASPICE, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity requirements.
13. Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize software for resource-efficient execution on HPC platforms.
14. Maintain software documentation, design specifications, and technical artifacts.
15. Comply with clean coding standards and best engineering practices.
Professional & Technical Skills:
1. Strong experience in Modern C++ development on Linux/QNX platforms.
2. Hands-on experience with Adaptive AUTOSAR architecture and middleware services.
3. Strong understanding of Automotive High-Performance Computing (HPC), Domain Controllers, and Zonal Architectures.
4. Expertise in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and automotive communication frameworks.
5. Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP, SOME/IP, DDS, and MQTT protocols.
6. Experience with multi-threaded programming, IPC mechanisms, memory management, and performance optimization.
7. Knowledge of automotive middleware, platform abstraction layers, and software integration.
8. Proficiency in source code management tools such as Git and software build systems like CMake/Bazel.
9. Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent.
10. Understanding of software quality metrics such as MC/DC coverage, branch coverage, static code analysis, and coding guideline compliance.
11. Experience with debugging and profiling tools such as GDB, Valgrind, Wireshark, and CANoe.
12. Knowledge of ASPICE software development processes.
13. Understanding of Cybersecurity standards such as ISO 21434 and secure communication mechanisms.
14. Understanding of Functional Safety concepts and ISO 26262 standards.
15. Preferred training: iSAQB Certified Professional for Software Architecture – Foundation Level (CPSA-F).
16. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
17. High technological affinity and passion for Software Defined Vehicle technologies.
18. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in global development environments.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Automotive Embedded Software Development.
Hands-on experience in Adaptive AUTOSAR, Automotive HPC Platforms, Linux/QNX, and Service-Oriented Architectures is mandatory.
Experience with Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), Domain Controllers, Zonal Architectures, and Centralized Compute Platforms is highly preferred.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments is preferred.
This position is based at our Bengaluru/Pune office.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline is required.
