What would you do? To ensure reliable performance, optimal utilization, and extended lifecycle of electrical assets—particularly power transformers—through effective asset management, commissioning supervision, and maintenance practices in alignment with utility standards and safety norms.
What are we looking for? • Enough experience in power utility, EPC, or transformer OEM/service company. • Hands-on experience in substation commissioning, transformer testing, and maintenance. • Knowledge of IEC / IS standards related to transformers and electrical equipment. • Experience with asset health monitoring tools or enterprise asset management systems is desirable. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Certification in Asset Management / Power Systems / Maintenance Engineering preferred. • Transformer diagnostics and maintenance • Site commissioning and testing supervision • Asset condition monitoring and data interpretation • Maintenance planning and execution • Root cause failure analysis (RCFA) • Knowledge of protection systems and control schemes • Strong documentation and reporting ability • Coordination with OEMs, contractors, and utilities
Roles and Responsibilities: Asset Management • Develop and implement asset management plans for transformers and associated electrical equipment (circuit breakers, isolators, CTs/PTs, etc.). • Monitor asset health indices using diagnostic tools (DGA, Tan Delta, Partial Discharge, IR tests, etc.). • Maintain detailed asset databases, performance logs, and lifecycle cost records. • Support condition-based and predictive maintenance strategies to optimize asset performance. • Assist in failure analysis and recommend corrective or preventive actions. 2. Site Commissioning & Testing • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of transformers, switchgear, and substation equipment. • Review and ensure compliance with technical drawings, commissioning procedures, and quality standards. • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). • Perform on-site electrical testing: insulation resistance, winding resistance, ratio test, vector group verification, and oil testing. • Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and project teams to ensure safe and timely commissioning. 3. Transformer Maintenance & Diagnostics • Execute routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance of power and distribution transformers. • Monitor oil parameters and insulation conditions through periodic testing and analysis. • Manage refurbishment, overhauling, and oil filtration activities. • Support transformer protection and control system troubleshooting. • Maintain maintenance schedules and reports in line with OEM recommendations and utility policies. 4. Technical Documentation & Reporting • Prepare technical reports, test results, inspection notes, and maintenance records. • Update asset management systems (AMS / CMMS) with operational and maintenance data. • Support audit, regulatory, and reliability reporting requirements. • Provide technical support to procurement, planning, and operations teams. 5. Safety & Compliance • Ensure adherence to electrical safety procedures, isolation protocols, and statutory regulations. • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents or failures. • Promote safety and reliability culture across maintenance and commissioning teams.
