Retail Strategy Manager – New York, NY

Job Description:
Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of Retail Strategy Manager in New York, NY to manage North American Retail Strategy practice. S/he will perform the following duties: manage Retail Merchandising and Planning; Manage large consulting engagements; Apply Retail business strategy development, architecting value and operating model architecture skills to influence client agendas through business insight; partner with our Retail clients to make decisions on priority C-Suite issues, especially within Merchandising and Planning, at the intersection of business, technology and operations; provide understanding of our clients’ industry landscape and business options in the context of global, economic, and technology and social trends.

Positions are based out of New York, NY but international travel will be required approximately 60% of an average work week.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires at least a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Management, or closely related field, plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Business Strategy Consultant, Senior Consultant, Consultant, CRM Project Manager, Project Manager or in a related IT position. This position also requires the following professional experience: 5 years of experience within the retail industry or retail consulting engagements in the following:  supermarkets, department stores, chain stores, specialty stores, variety stores, franchise stores, mail-order houses, online merchants, and door-to-door sellers; 2 years of experience managing the delivery of a transformation project with a merchandising, planning or inventory management focus with up to 6 subordinates, including managing project schedules and budgets, and client communications; 2 years of experience in assessing and designing an end-to-end merchandising process; 2 years of experience assessing and designing merchandising and planning organization structures, roles and headcount or end to end merchandising process; 1 year of experience working with key functional partners, including supply chain, marketing and finance; 3 years of experience demonstrating fluency in core retail metrics, including sales, margin and inventory turn and understanding of key actions to impact each metric; 1 year experience with core merchandising and planning functional technology capabilities including, merchandise financial planning and utilizing analytical tools such as Alteryx, Excel, and Access; and 1 year of experience training and managing retail merchandizing Analysts and Consultants.
