IBM DB2 Systems Programmer
Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the development of custom software solutions, focusing on designing, coding, and enhancing various components across systems or applications. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members, utilizing modern frameworks, and applying agile practices to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions that meet specific business requirements.
- Lead the effort to design, build and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Plan, install, configure, test and implement DB2 for z/OS
- Plan, install, configure, test and implement DB2 Service Level upgrade and patches
- Plan, install, configure, test and implement QMF for z/OS, DB2 Admin Tool, and DB2 Utilities Suite
- Plan and run REBIND in support of DB2 Service upgrades
- Plan and use DB2 utilities to backup and recover DB2 Subsystem
- Manage buffer pools
- Provide Technical Assistance to appropriate groups
- Have used SMP/E software products installation and maintenance utility process
- Have used JCL and Utility programs like IEBGENER, IDCAMS, to maintain z/OS software products
- Have used TSO ISPF Panels , IBM SDSF or equivalent ISV product
- Manage DB2 environment by updating/modifying DSNZPARM structure
- Utilize DB2 CLIST/REXX to create/update DB2 subsystems
- Provide updates for z/OS Parmlib/proclib and RACF definitions for new/updated subsystems
- Independently troubleshoot issues and resolve them
- Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery procedures and support periodic testing activities

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or relevant field
- At least 5 years of experience in Systems Programmer functions
- Client facing experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Required Skill: Expert proficiency in IBM Db2.
- Additional Must Have Skills: Proficiency in Natural.
- Strong understanding of database design and optimization techniques.
- Experience with SQL and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, particularly agile practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Willing to do night shift and be on-call
- Willing to do RTO and abide by Accenture’s RTO policy
- This position is based at our Manila office.
