Role Overview

We are actively seeking a highly proficient and motivated candidate to join our esteemed team in the capacity of a Cloud FinOps Engineer professional. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will assume the responsibility of delivering top-tier FinOps services and expertise exclusively tailored for the Azure Cloud platform, a cornerstone of our operations.

This role is deeply collaborative, requiring seamless interaction with multifaceted cross-functional teams. Together, we will conceptualize and execute resilient and scalable FinOps solutions, meticulously designed for the meticulous tracking, transparency, and optimization of cloud expenditures. These solutions will be instrumental in facilitating the judicious utilization of cloud resources, thereby mitigating waste and bolstering overall cost-efficiency.

Overall 5+ years experience in IT
5+ years of relevant experience in Cloud FinOps/Cloud Spend optimization.
Good knowledge of MS Azure and mandatory certification in AZ-900 or AZ-104
Strong ability to analyze and interpret data and provide insights.

Financial Acumen: A strong grasp of financial concepts and principles, coupled with hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Mastery of Azure Cost Management Tools: Proficiency in utilizing Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor tools to optimize costs effectively.

Analytical Prowess: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost reduction.

Effective Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The capability to function both independently and within a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Consumption Tracking Expertise: Proficiency in monitoring and tracking consumption across all cloud resources.

Stakeholder Support: The ability to assist stakeholders in comprehending their cloud spend in alignment with their business roadmap and budgeted forecasts.

Anomaly Detection and Escalation: Vigilant monitoring of cloud consumption at the account level to promptly detect, investigate, and escalate anomalies and unexpected cost spikes.

Automation and Process Enhancement: Active participation in automating, integrating, and advancing the Cloud FinOps processes and data.

Proven FinOps Experience: Demonstrated experience working in a FinOps environment, with tangible examples of tools and analyses that have positively impacted cloud spend.

Azure Cloud Service Provider Experience: Prior experience working with Azure Cloud service providers, with a solid understanding of billing constructs and familiarity with fundamental services.



Key responsibilities

Enable FinOps Framework & Capacity Management: Establish and oversee the FinOps framework and capacity management processes, ensuring effective utilization of Azure cloud resources.

Engage with External Teams: Take ownership of FinOps engagements with external teams, steering efforts towards measurable outcomes and fostering collaboration.

KPI Implementation: Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to continually enhance FinOps capabilities and efficiency.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly across various FinOps personas, with a particular focus on Engineering, Product Management, and Finance teams.

Multi-Cloud Governance: Execute governance activities within a multi-cloud environment, with a primary focus on Azure.

Tagging Standards and Policies: Define, implement, and maintain tagging standards and policies to govern cloud resources effectively.

Cost Analysis and Optimization: Continuously monitor and analyze cloud cost trends, offering recommendations and implementing cost optimization strategies as needed.

Cost Planning: Define and track cost plans, including reserved instances and enterprise saving plans.

Azure Cost Reporting: Maintain Azure cost reports, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of cost data.

Reporting and Visualization: Develop reports, utilizing tools such as PowerBI, to showcase various FinOps aspects and achievements, such as monthly cost and savings dashboards.

Process Automation: Create and apply automation solutions to optimize work processes and enhance efficiency.

Documentation and Communication: Generate solution documentation and communicate effectively with relevant cloud users and stakeholders.

Cloud Governance Expertise: Possess strong knowledge of cloud governance topics, encompassing tagging, rightsizing, reservation management, and cost allocation.

Environment Management: Provide day-to-day support for the management and control of all cloud environments.



Professional Experience/Attribute

Proven experience and expertise in FinOps, cloud cost management, and capacity planning.
Strong familiarity with Azure cloud services, resource management, and billing constructs.
Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
Proficiency in data visualization tools, especially PowerBI.
Experience in implementing automation solutions to optimize cloud workflows.
Exposure in FinOps Framework and Charge back model.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working with cross-functional teams.
In-depth knowledge of cloud governance best practices and strategies.
Adept at defining and tracking KPIs for performance improvement.
Prior experience in monitoring and analyzing cloud cost trends.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to create and maintain documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of tools like MS PowerBI, MS PowerApps, ServiceNow, MS Excel.
Highly self-motivated individuals with the ability to identify areas of focus and tackle new challenges.
Demonstrated ability to deliver clear and measurable results, aligned with planned goals.
Strong analytical skills for extracting insights and actionable items from available data.
Adaptability to work in a dynamic international environment.
