Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Functional Test Lead with strong domain expertise in Payments and Cash Settlements within the Trade Lifecycle. The role involves owning test planning, strategy, and execution for end-to-end settlement flows, ensuring high-quality delivery across upstream and downstream systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Test Planning & Strategy:
- Define and own functional test strategy, test plan, and test approach for payments and cash settlement systems
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and trade workflows to identify test scope and risks
- Prepare end-to-end test scenarios covering the full trade lifecycle (Trade Capture Confirmation Settlement Reconciliation)
- Payments & Cash Settlements Testing:
- Validate cash settlement flows for: Domestic & cross-border payments. RTGS, SWIFT (MT/MX), ACH, NEFT, Fedwire, CHAPS (as applicable)
- Test cash movements, netting, funding checks, and nostro/vostro account postings
- Ensure correct handling of fees, charges, FX rates, and cut-off times
- Trade Lifecycle Coverage:
- Test settlement for asset classes such as: Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives
- Validate settlement events:
- Trade date (T), settlement date (T+N)
- Failed trades, partial settlements, reversals, cancellations
- Verify corporate actions and lifecycle events impacting cash settlements
- Functional & Business Validation:
- Validate accounting entries, GL postings, and reconciliation reports
- Ensure compliance with market regulations and settlement standards
- Perform data validation across upstream/downstream systems
- Defect & Stakeholder Management:
- Log, track, and manage defects with clear business impact analysis
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and Operations teams
- Participate in UAT support and production go-live activities
- Leadership & Governance (for Lead Role):
- Mentor junior testers and review test artefacts
- Provide test status reporting, risk assessment, and quality metrics to stakeholders
- Drive process improvements and best practices in functional testing
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Functional Testing Skills
- Strong experience in manual / functional testing and test planning
- Expertise in end-to-end testing, regression, and UAT support
- Proficiency in test management tools (JIRA, ALM, TestRail, etc.)
- Domain Knowledge (Must Have):
- In-depth knowledge of Payments and Cash Settlements
- Strong understanding of Trade Lifecycle in Capital Markets
- Familiarity with:
- SWIFT messages (MT103, MT202, MT540–543, MT950, etc.)
- Settlement concepts: nostro/vostro, clearing, netting, reconciliation
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to ISO 20022 (MX messages)
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting and compliance
- Experience in Agile / SAFe environments

- The candidate should have minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Functional Test Planning payments and cash settlement domain.
- This position is based at our Mumbai office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
