What would you do? The Learning and Professional Services Sourcing and Contracting Lead is responsible for the full sourcing lifecycle for enterprise learning, training, and professional services. This role combines category strategy, commercial negotiation, and contract execution with a strong understanding of emerging technologies, digital learning platforms, and service delivery models. Success in this role requires strong reasoning skills, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable business value and mitigate risk.
What are we looking for? • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Law, Technology, or related field (Master’s or JD a plus). • 6–10 years of procurement and contracting experience with exposure to learning/professional services categories and technology-driven solutions. • Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with complex terms. • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills to support structured decision-making and risk evaluation. • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), SaaS-based delivery models, and digital content providers. • Exposure to sourcing cloud-based and subscription-based learning solutions (e.g., LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, Udemy Business, Skillsoft etc.). • Experience with eSourcing platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua) and CLM systems. • Ability to interpret financial models and assess TCO across multiple service tiers or delivery models. • Understanding of data privacy frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA), IP terms, and data transfer clauses relevant to professional services and eLearning. • Strong written and verbal communication to translate complex concepts into clear stakeholder messages.
Roles and Responsibilities: •1. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management • Develop and execute category strategies across learning and professional services, including instructor-led training, eLearning platforms, coaching, consulting, and certification programs. • Analyze supplier capabilities and solution fit, especially in areas of digital learning, AI-driven platforms, and hybrid delivery models. • Leverage logical frameworks to evaluate RFP responses, vendor risk, cost models, and long-term value. 2. Contracting & Negotiation • Lead the negotiation and drafting of MSAs, SOWs, and Amendments, with a focus on minimizing risk and aligning with enterprise standards. • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Data Privacy teams to ensure contracts reflect relevant regulatory, intellectual property, and security considerations. • Use structured reasoning to assess trade-offs, contract scenarios, and fallback positions during negotiations. 3. Technology Awareness & Market Intelligence • Maintain up-to-date understanding of the technology landscape across digital learning platforms (e.g., LMS, LXP, virtual labs, content libraries). • Assess vendor roadmaps and technology differentiators when sourcing or renewing contracts. • Monitor innovation trends (e.g., AI-enabled coaching, gamified learning, immersive content) to future-proof sourcing decisions. 4. Supplier & Performance Management • Establish and track service levels, KPIs, and continuous improvement plans with key suppliers, negotiation strategy. • Conduct logical root cause analysis on supplier issues and lead remediation planning. 5. Cross-Functional & Analytical Leadership • Partner with Talent Development, HR, IT, Finance, and Legal to align sourcing efforts with enterprise priorities. • Apply critical thinking to resolve ambiguity, assess risks, and optimize sourcing outcomes. • Contribute to procurement process improvements, automation initiatives, and strategic sourcing playbooks.
