What would you do? This role is part of the Group’s Operations Data Management (ODM) team, to coordinate the global Material Master Data processes and activities effectively and efficiently, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all Material Master Data used in supply chain operations, factories and end markets. To ensure alignment to the Global and multi-functional build/modify/delete data management processes in BAT’s global systems (SAP, Kinaxis Rapid Response & APO DC) used by all data users, ensuring that any issues with data integrity or misalignment between systems are highlighted and resolved by the relevant owners within agreed SLAs To pro-actively handle the Master Data environment and apply effective housekeeping ensuring data accuracy and stability to support global plans, objectives and effectively service customers’ requirements.
What are we looking for? • High degree of understanding of SAP Material Master Data and structures • Good understanding of Global supply chain processes desirable • Knowledge of Cigarette, New Category and Vapour materials would be an advantage • An understanding of SAP MDG or equivalent master data governance tool would be advantageous • Team management and leadership capabilities • Highly numerate, analytical and accurate • Solid attention to detail with ability to drive completion and act on lessons learnt • Good degree of SAP knowledge • Good communication/social skills • Ability to engage, influence, debate and reason successfully with peers, sub-ordinates and immediate senior management • Structured work approach and excellent skills for prioritising multiple tasks, timeline conscious • Ability to deconstruct sophisticated scenarios and review with peers / partners across differing levels of data literacy • Experience of working with Master Data in an operational / supply chain environment • Peers within the Data Management Team, Global Supply Network Operations and Supply Chain functions, factories and end market master data requestors and resources on a day to day working and project basis. • Global / Regional NPI Project Managers, Product Specification Management Team, other ODM pillars • All in scope factories, commercial teams and end markets • EDS, ITC and other IT Services providers
Roles and Responsibilities: I. Operations/ Professional/ Business • Responsible for ensuring the creation, extension, amendment and deletion activities of all Operations Material Master Data and APO DC within the Data Management Team. • Have expert level understanding of all Material Master Data to ensure they are understood across own role and with key partners. • Drive Master Data accuracy and compliance to the Global Data standards. • All requests and issues actioned within the required accuracy rates as per SLA timelines • Proactively collaborate with all partners ensuring absolute integrity of the Master Data and understanding of Data structures • Maintain effective process and documentation controls through regular review. Ensure update of Master Data documentation in line with any business changes to data management processes. • As Master Data knowledge expert provide support to Global, Regional and Local Operations Data Management (ODM) projects as the need arises. • Drive Mass Update Process (MUP), Mass Copy Create (MCC) projects ensuring task completion, partner holder engagement within the agreed process SLA and carry out Product Specification activities. II. Management • Cover for Data Management Team (DMT) Team Leader and other Senior Data Analysts (SDA) • Handle weekly Data Quality (DQ) drumbeat (Focus Groups, prioritisation, reporting and critical issues) III. Leadership • Lead all aspects of Data Analyst reporting directly to you in a line manager capacity. • Drive direct reports to deliver consistent results at a high standard and level of quality. • Proactively drive critical metric and SLA alignment to ensure all targets are consistently met. • Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for issues and support root cause analysis within the Data Analyst team. • Actively coach and mentor new starters and existing Data Analysts. • Coordinate continuous improvements through optimisation of processes within the Data Management Team. • Collaboration across SDA roles to ensure consistency to Global Way of Working and fit gap analysis. • Drive weekly ‘Scrum’, Alignment Meetings and Weekly Directional Setting to ensure Data Analyst focus, prioritisations and workload management. IV. Relationship • Build strong working relationships with global / regional / local data teams and partners, conducting them on material master data and leading alignment to business standards and priorities. • Work with other global/regional/local master data partners to run data amendments further to changed or new data standards
