ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Consultant
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced ServiceNow HAM / CMDB Consultant to support the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing management of Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Discovery, and Configuration Management capabilities within a ServiceNow environment. The successful candidate will work closely with IT Operations, Asset Management, Infrastructure, and Service Management teams to improve asset visibility, data quality, governance, and compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of ITIL processes and ServiceNow best practices, particularly across IT Asset Management (ITAM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM).
Key Responsibilities:
Support the administration and continuous improvement of ServiceNow HAM, CMDB, and Discovery capabilities.
Configure, maintain, and optimize Discovery schedules and patterns to ensure accurate Configuration Item (CI) population.
Maintain CMDB data quality, integrity, governance, and compliance standards.
Assist in managing hardware assets across the complete lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
Work with infrastructure and application teams to identify, classify, and maintain CIs and service relationships.
Support configuration management processes and drive adherence to ITIL-aligned practices
Perform CMDB audits, reconciliation activities, and data quality reviews to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement ServiceNow solutions that support operational and business objectives.
Assist in developing dashboards, reporting, and metrics related to asset management, CMDB health, and Discovery performance.
Create and maintain technical documentation, process guides, and knowledge articles.
Required Skills & Experience:

Experience in ServiceNow ITAM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, or Configuration Management.

IT Service Management (ITSM)

Strong understanding of Configuration Items (CIs), CI relationships, and service mapping concepts.

ITIL 4 Foundation Certification (mandatory/preferred depending on project requirements).

ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (ITAM, ITOM, or Discovery).

Experience with ServiceNow HAM Pro, ITAM, ITOM, or Discovery implementations.

Understanding of cloud, server, network, and infrastructure environments.
Additional Requirements:

Current Australian Government security clearance (Baseline, NV1 or higher)
