Which is why we launched the Accenture NOW app.

About the app

The Accenture global IT organization created this mobile app for Accenture employees. The app provides a personalized read-out of Accenture news, video messages from leaders, key actions, client metrics, and more.

The app’s user experience is friendly and actionable. For example, the home screen quickly shows the day’s top company news, as well as the employee’s upcoming key conference calls and meetings and important recent emails.

The app showcases how multiple platform services can converge into a cohesive product. The strong user experience is the result of applying innovation, technology, agility, and design thinking based on key employee friction points that we have been hearing.

Our workforce is mobile

This app plays a key role in Accenture’s mobile strategy to provide our employees with tools that support their high level of productivity on the go. The Accenture NOW app reduces the number of single-use mobile applications that employees need to download and navigate. For example, the NOW app is also a gateway for booking a flight, reserving a workspace at an Accenture office location, and filling out time-and-expense reports.

The team who built it

Within the Accenture global IT organization, the designers and management for the NOW app were focused on creating a product and service strategy that improves employee experience across the enterprise. The app started out as a small pilot of 250 users with a plan to gradually increase the feature set over time. But within a short time, the app was nominated to support Accenture’s Next Generation Growth Model announcements and updates  in a new and frictionless way.

Multiple teams sprang into action to introduce a whole new feature set in the app that is specifically tailored to the Growth Model topic. The small and agile team did the work in less than 12 weeks, building on an already solid base app. They collaborated with technical experts from content management, mobile app development, enterprise operations and performance, and integrated business services. To help raise awareness about the app in our global organization of half-a-million employees, Accenture marketing teams launched timely and informative campaigns using multiple content channels.
