Associate Legal Counsel, Employment Law, Contracting, Ventures & Acquisitions

Job Summary

He/she will provide Employment Law support in relation to Accenture’s contracting and ventures and acquisition practices, working as part of the Global Employment Law Support to Contracting and V&A team.  He/she supports the Sr. Director. Employment Law, Global Support to Contracting, Ventures & Acquisitions by providing and coordinating employment-related legal advice on complex and cross jurisdictional deals.  He/she provides advisory support in respect of employment law implications of people solution on deals, including through negotiation and contracting and assists through project management and support to key deals related strategic initiatives and development of know-how and technology-driven tools.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to client deals, ventures and acquisitions and deal-related strategic initiatives across the Americas.
  • Advise on contractual aspects of outsourcing deals, acquisitions, ventures and divestitures and on the risk management of the transition of staff into Accenture and on the impact of the relevant deal opportunity to Accenture’s internal organisation.
  • Provide operational and strategic support to labour relations across the Americas. 
  • Support the Sr. Director, Employment Law, Global Support to Contracting, Ventures & Acquisitions in relation to oversight of pipeline management, development of technology assisted tools and processes to optimise employment law support to Accenture’s deals.
  • Contribute to development of internal guidelines, toolkits, training materials and packaged knowledge on Employment legal deal-related issues globally, particularly targeted to key stakeholder audiences: Sales & Delivery (Legal), Contract Management, Mobilisation, Solution Architects, CDTS, V&A HR, V&A Legal, HR and deal teams and facilitate systematic review of existing available content for accuracy.
  • Support the management of deal-related employment law projects across the Americas and globally and advising HR, Legal and management as appropriate.
  • Manage and oversee outside counsel relationships with law firms instructed to provide deal-related employment support matters, including managing the budget, working in conjunction with MU and Market Employment Law teams.
  • Act as legal advisor on Employment issues to deal teams on matters within the remit of the Global Employment Law deals team, including support on bid submissions and contract negotiations when addressing the people solution of deals and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide support to due diligence, deal-shaping, strategies in relation to transition and retention of acquired personnel, contracting approach, integration, and PMI planning.
  • Stay abreast of legal developments affecting the company, its clients, and industries and synthesise the information to incorporate it into company practices.
  • Support, promote, and implement initiatives as part of Legal team.
  • Educate senior company executives with regard to legal and risk management issues in the region.
  • Make recommendations and escalate to the Sr. Director of Employment Law, Global Support to Contracting, Ventures & Acquisitions on material issues.
  • Maintain clear understanding of sales and V&A pipeline management process, escalations protocols to MU, Market (including MICO) and Capital Committee and related Company policies associated with the same.
  • Provide relevant input to briefings and escalations, to ensure employment law issues are addressed appropriately, key risk and mitigations identified and that there are clear recommendations and options.
  • Forster seamless integration and teaming relations with the other Compliance, Operations, Regulatory and Ethics (“CORE”) Legal teams, as well as with Sales & Delivery (Legal), V&A Legal and Contract Management, Lead Negotiators, Mobilisation, PTT, CDTS and Solution Architect leadership.

  • Coordinates external counsel

  • Outside law firms

 



Requisitos

Education:

  • Graduate level and Admitted to the Bar in his/her home country.

Work Experience:

  • Significant experience of employment law in a multi-jurisdictional context, particularly on supporting transactional employment law matters.
  • Strong experience employment litigation and disputes resolution, union and collective rights/labor matters and employment status/agency worker issues.
  • Good project management skills and experience in practicing employment law on projects across Latin America, and ideally familiarity with North America and global projects.
  • Ability to work closely with a wide range of personnel, including leadership
  • Proven negotiation and contract drafting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and demonstrate strategic thinking.
  • Responsive and follows through on commitments.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Strong experience advising management of large companies.
  • Proven presentational and training capabilities

 

Work Requirements: 

  • Limited travel required, primarily within the Hispanic South America region.
