Lauren Lai

Programs & Operations Analyst

"I am proud to be part of Accenture’s commitment to inclusion and diversity and building a culture where everyone can thrive."

How I put change in motion

I work as an HR Programs and Operations Analyst on the Singapore HR communications team. My work includes developing and managing monthly HR newsletters and town hall meetings, as well as applying for external awards for our multiple inclusion and diversity (I&D) initiatives.

I champion Accenture’s I&D programs where we actively work together with the business in accelerating equality for all. I also work on change enablement projects such as the implementation of Workday and Accenture’s new HR operating model.

My TAP experience

I am proud to be part of Accenture’s commitment to inclusion and diversity and building a culture where everyone can thrive. My most memorable experience in the HR Talent Accelerator Program (TAP) was the work I did with our 2021 International Women’s Day celebrations.

I had the opportunity to learn alongside passionate professionals and leaders from different functions of the business. It’s exciting to be part of planning and executing projects in a fast-paced environment, and then getting to see them implemented and measuring the results.

I feel that my ideas and suggestions are well received in my team, even among senior leaders. That gives me confidence that I have the ability to contribute in my own unique way. I’ve learned that a challenge is just an opportunity to think outside the box and come up with new alternatives.

I especially appreciate the many opportunities to educate myself on the latest technologies and innovations that are so fundamental to our business.

A day in my life

A typical day starts with connecting with various task-force members and colleagues for project updates. I spend the rest of my day prioritizing my tasks based on the various timelines of my I&D involvements and change enablement projects. I juggle my time between researching best practices for communication pieces and working on training materials for upcoming projects, such as our new HR operating model. I also spend time researching to expand my knowledge of HR.

In my spare time, I love working out and keeping active. One favorite activity is bouldering, which is a form of rock climbing without ropes or harnesses. I love a good challenge, and bouldering gives me a strong sense of satisfaction.

“It’s exciting to be part of planning and executing projects in a fast-paced environment in the TAP program.”

My advice

Be upfront about your goals as you progress from assignment to assignment. That’s what has helped me gain opportunities to make the most of my unique skills.
