Service & Interaction Design - Fjord
Interaction Designers at Fjord Milan are expected to work with project teams in defining, and designing service solutions that take in considerations not only the digital aspects of the service, but the whole relationship between customers and services.
Interaction designers should be able to come up with creative solutions to problems that evaluate and assess the user, business and technical goals and needs. They must be able to clearly communicate their solutions, usually in the form of models, wireframes, documentation, or prototypes. The interaction designer is not only expected to work on digital interfaces, as instead design for the interaction between customer and service throughout the whole experience, across channels, and at different touchpoints.

We don’t measure seniority in terms of years of experience, we are more interested in a solid experience with global brands and organisations, ideally matured in an international environment, the ability to present ideas and concepts in a clear, articulated and structured way, at all levels. Experience leading cross-functional teams a plus.

This position reports to the Italy Design Director with support from the office Design Leads.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply conceptual thinking to create world-class digital services across multiple platforms, bringing together user needs, business goals and technical realities
  • Develop sound UX concepts, including the definition of customer needs, task analysis, and the creation of personas, storyboards, scenarios, user flows and use cases
  • Translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity despite system complexity
  • Create instant tangibility for the Fjord team and the client through storytelling and rapid prototyping methods
  • Define the User Interface Design through information architecture, wireframes and user flows and validate it through usability testing
  • Work directly with customers and prospects to design end-to-end experiences using participatory and iterative design techniques, including observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behaviour and verify design concepts

  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually

  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, project management, business and brand strategists, and hardware and software developers
  • Collaborate effectively with remote team members, including designers, researchers engineering, product management, marketing and others.
