The engineer ensures asset reliability, performance optimization, and compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
What are we looking for? • Hands-on experience with transformer testing equipment (DGA kits, Tan Delta, SFRA, IR thermography). • Knowledge of asset management systems (SAP PM, Maximo, or equivalent). • Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards related to transformers and substations. • Understanding of SCADA and remote monitoring systems. • Strong analytical and documentation skills. • Good coordination and stakeholder management. • Commitment to safety, quality, and reliability. • Relevant experience in transformer maintenance, substation commissioning, or electrical asset management (utility or EPC sector).
Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Transformer Maintenance • Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance of power and distribution transformers. • Diagnose faults through oil testing, electrical testing, and on-site inspection. • Coordinate oil filtration, bushing replacement, and tap changer maintenance. • Manage breakdown maintenance and root cause analysis of failures. • Implement maintenance management systems (CMMS or EAM tools such as SAP PM or Maximo). 4. Safety & Compliance • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory UK regulations • Conduct toolbox talks, job safety analysis, and permit-to-work reviews. • Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory inspections. 5. Continuous Improvement & Reporting • Analyze reliability and performance data to identify trends and optimization opportunities. • Support digital initiatives such as condition monitoring dashboards and asset digital twins. • Provide inputs for budgeting, cost forecasting, and asset life-cycle costing. • Train site teams and field engineers on maintenance and diagnostic best practices.
