Program Specialist Services professionals provide project-based support services within centers. These professionals support the delivery and execution of our key projects with specialized services.


Job Description

 
  • Reviews the operating statements for designated division and or departments and prepares journal entries to facilitate timely and accurate financial statements
  • Prepares and presents monthly quantitative and qualitative analyses of assigned divisions and or departments by the deadlines with particular emphasis on explanation of variances from budget and recent prior months
  • Reviews new agreements for assigned entities for accounting related items and recommends changes to current accounting processes
  • Assists entity management with questions relating to their monthly financial management reports and other questions
  • Prepare tax return schedules including local, state, and federal returns
  • Understands and prepares the proper elimination entries and procedures for consolidating entities
  • Maintains accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Clients Technical Accounting Bulletins, system and regional financial policies and procedures and ensures compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies
  • Is responsible to understand and make sure all account reconciliations are prepared and approved on the appropriate basis and understand the systems and sub ledgers that send data to the accounts

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

 
  • Minimum three years of experience in Accounting/Finance, in one or more of the following areas:  A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets, General Ledger
  • Minimum three years of Customer Service/Client Delivery
  • Minimum 3 years creating/manipulating reports using MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Logic functions)
 

Preferred Skills

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA, CMA
  • Healthcare finance operations and project coordination experience
  • Experience in preparing and presenting financial variance reports
  • Experience using ERP or equivalent accounting system, solid knowledge of GAAP and accounting and analysis experience
  • Process documentation experience a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of standard accounting procedures including journal entries, month end closings and account reconciliations

  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
