SCA Job Responsibilities:
  • Technical: Implements the NIST Cybersecurity risk based framework (FIPS and 800 series special practices).
  • Supports the C&A or A&A process
  • Works with the System and Data Owners to develop security artifacts (e.g., SSPs, PIA, SRA, etc.).
  • Supports cloud technology and security
  • Participates in network and systems design reviews/quality assurance to assure implementation of appropriate systems security policies and procedures.
  • Perform Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) - technical controls, document review, and management interviews
  • Facilitates and participates in assessment and authorization (certification & accreditation), compliance reviews, architecture reviews, training, plan of action; milestone resolution, and reports on program status. 
  • Assists in the conduct of risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
  • Participates in on-site evaluations/audits for compliance with policy.
Management Assistance:
  • Provides technical assistance, analysis, and oversight on critical IT security issues.
  • Assists with assessments of security events to determine impact, proper reporting, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Helps promote awareness of security issues among management and customers, and ensures sound security principles are reflected in organizations' visions and goals. 
  • Assist with the Preparation and delivery of education and awareness briefings to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of and adhere to systems security policies and procedures

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 
  • Must have Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant subject area
  • 8 years with similar experience requirements.
  • The ability to analyze situations and information and make recommendations, communicate effectively orally, in writing, and in presentations.
  • Experience developing security artifacts and procedures to ensure information system confidentiality, integrity and availability are in compliance with national policy.
  • Experience with IT security assessment and authorization (certification and accreditation) processes for major applications or IT systems.
  • Knowledge of FISMA compliance, OMB requirements and guidance, NIST standards and guidance.
An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
