Job Description: Communications Industry Marketing Manager

 

Working with the Communications & Media Marketing Lead, and the key business stakeholders, you will be responsible for helping develop and implement the Communications Industry global marketing strategy and collaborating with regional and local marketers to engage with the key clients in their region. Based on the business objectives you will develop, implement and measure marketing campaigns and activities, using a mix of marketing channels to showcase provocative, insightful content around a focused set of client-relevant issues.

 

Focusing on a content-led strategy you will help us to lead in the new by challenging traditional marketing channels to ensure we integrate digital and social marketing methods to develop, implement and measure marketing campaigns and activities - to showcase provocative, insightful content around a focused set of client-relevant issues, helping us to establish a clear, differentiated voice in the market.

 

By packaging and promoting our perspectives and value delivered to our clients’ businesses across an integrated mix of traditional and digital marketing channels, we can enable our client-facing colleagues in sales and account management functions to engage clients in conversations around issues crucial to the growth of their businesses. The overall goals are to create deeper understanding of Accenture’s unique capabilities, help articulate Accenture’s role in the broader Communications industry ecosystem and establish a preference for Accenture in our target market segments.

 

Candidates must be marketing professionals with experience in developing marketing plans and delivering creative, data-driven, integrated marketing programs across multiple channels such as thought leadership, digital marketing, social media and events to:

  • create engagement and increase work with current clients
  • open doors and build relationships with new clients
  • create demand in new market segments
  • help grow market share through strategies that support customer acquisition, engagement, loyalty, and cross-selling

Ideally you will understand or have experience in the Communications industry as well as digital and business-to-business marketing, preferably in a professional services context. You will be pragmatic and self-assured in your ability to recommend the right marketing approach. You will be proactive, highly organized, a self-starter and experienced in developing content-based marketing campaigns, fluent command of the English language including superb writing and editing skills to help create content such as blog and social media posts.  You must be a team player, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and be adept at creating gravitas and building senior stakeholder relationships. 

 

As well as the Communications & Media Marketing Lead, you will work closely with Accenture’s Communications & Media marketing team, MDs and other marketers in the full range of Accenture businesses and functions. As a member of the broader Accenture Marketing & Communications global team, you will collaborate with members of other teams; including internal comms, research & insights team and media relations, to deliver market impact and support an integrated, consistent client experience. 

 

In this fast-paced role you need strong project management skills, confidence in managing senior stakeholders in our business, comfort with working in virtual teams in a matrixed organization and the ability to focus and manage competing priorities.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, execution, measurement and continuous improvement of industry-specific marketing campaigns to help build awareness, generate sales leads and develop senior client relationships, including: events, digital marketing, social media marketing, corporate hospitality, sponsorships, conferences, advertorial, video, collateral, thought leadership development.      
  • Create marketing activities to meet business objectives and create compelling marketing initiatives which will attract senior client executives.
  • Develop and/or work strategically with Accenture’s roster agencies.
  • Manage the pipeline of, and help in the production of relevant thought leadership/ research/ points of view.
  • Mange budgets and associated campaign costs.
  • Provide writing, editing and creative support for projects within the marketing programs.
  • Roll-out key industry campaigns across multiple channels, tailoring to target markets.
  • Work with local geographic markets team to plan and execute marketing programs, in accordance with Accenture’s corporate marketing strategies and focus.
  • Leverage best practices across Accenture to ensure projects are best in class.
  • Administrative roles include maintaining global templates/calendars, accurate and segmented client data, tracking sales leads from marketing events, along with the timely keeping of records for procurement processes, budgets and metrics.
  • Ensure that all global marketing policies and procedures are followed.
  • This role will require people management skills for other team members, contractors and other external resources. 

Knowledge and skill requirements:

You must be a team player, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and be adept at building senior stakeholder relationships. you will be an experienced marketing manager with previous experience working in a professional services firm. You are highly organized, a self-starter and experienced in developing and executing both traditional (events, sponsorships, conferences, direct mailings) and digitally-enabled tactics, as part of a B2B content-based marketing campaign.   • Proven experience in developing marketing strategies and plans, general and digital marketing campaign strategy, program planning, implementation and measuring ROI.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in often an intense and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to write and edit marketing materials including blogs, mailings, social media content, invites and marketing collateral.
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • A team player, able to collaborate and communicate with other marketing professionals in our extended marketing team around the world.
  • Skilled at managing resources to effectively achieve marketing goals, including budgets, internal resources and third-party suppliers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to bring new and fresh ideas and concepts.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar sales/marketing/support tracking systems.
  • Experience in developing and managing events, sponsorship and conferences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding and ability to originate and apply marketing concepts.
  • Strong budget management and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Passion for strategic, creative, well-executed marketing programs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of marketing & communications experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing marketing strategies and plans, general and digital marketing campaign strategy, program planning, implementation and measuring ROI
  • Significant experience in marketing, business development and/or marketing communications roles
  • Marketing qualification from a recognized body, e.g. university or marketing professional bodies
  • Professional Services, Communications & Media industries or business-to-business marketing experience is preferable
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar sales/marketing/support tracking systems
  • Experience in developing and managing events, sponsorship and conferences
  • Strong budget management and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Passion for strategic, creative, well-executed marketing programs
  • Strong implementation orientation and focus on delivering ROI
