Role: NPI Materials Program Senior Analyst (Buyer/Planner)

Role Responsibilities

  • Plans sourcing activities to ensure material availability to launch and scale new products
  • Ensures materials and components are sourced and planned to meet all quality, cost and delivery requirements
  • Works with cross-functional product development teams to create items and bills of material (BOMs) which accurately reflect the components that make up a given product
  • Ensures all appropriate purchasing data is available to acquire the parts which may include product data sheet part specifications, component cost, component lead time
  • Performs materials planning based on project schedules and BOMs and determines how much of each type of material is required at any given location for specific prototype, pre-production or production runs
  • Ensures proper materials are in place and available for consumption for each build throughout the new product introduction process
  • Works with component suppliers and the internal product development team to ensure quality, cost and delivery expectations are met.
  • Manages the repositioning, movement or reallocation of materials to support NPI builds as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (within business, supply chain, procurement or engineering specialty strongly preferred)
  • 2 years’ experience with analytics to calculate materials requirements utilizing spreadsheets and/or other computer tools
  • 2 years’ experience with item and bill of material (BOM) creation and management
  • 2 years’ experience with demand management, materials management, operations management and procurement
  • 2 years’ experience with materials requirement planning applications (MRP) such as Oracle ERP or SAP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation and procurement skills
