The Digital Technical Architecture Principal is responsible for assessing the hosting infrastructure of Accenture Digital’s acquisitions and creating a plan to migrate the acquired company’s infrastructure to Accenture’s hosting platforms.   The individual will also lead the Digital Infrastructure and Operations Engineering team and manage the execution of the hosting migration plans of acquired companies.  This role will have responsibility managing the architecture of Accenture Digital’s managed private cloud solution across multiple datacenters.
 
 In addition, the Digital Technical Architecture Principal will: 
  • Provide guidance to the leadership of companies acquired by Accenture Digital on how to migrate solutions in manor that meets security and policy requirements.
  • Provide capacity planning estimates as part of the acquisition migration process.
  • Provide ongoing design guidance to a part or to the whole of a technical infrastructure (e.g. application servers, security, networks, etc.)
  • Design and implement automation, tools and process to improve service delivery of managed hosting services.
  • Manage relationship with managed hosting vendors to refine existing and create new service offerings
  • Integrate Accenture service providers offerings into the DIO service catalog.
  • Ensure existing service offerings are consistent with security and policy requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Engineering Management:
  • Manage engineering resources across multiple projects and acquisition work streams.
  • Assess an acquired company’s infrastructure, create a hosting migration blueprint including resource allocation, implementation timeline and post migration hosting run estimate.
  • Design hosting solutions based on public and private cloud technologies such as vSphere, Hyper-V, AWS and Azure.
  • Ensure solutions meet Accenture security and policy requirements as part of the hosting migration process.
  • Provide transitional support to the leadership of acquired companies facilitating solutioning within the Accenture hosting ecosystem.
  • Create and update infrastructure and technology related documentation and training materials
  • Support Digital Infrastructure and Operations (DIO) leadership with budget planning and control
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce cost within the Digital Managed Private Cloud hosting solution.
 
On-Going Operations:
  • Conduct trend analysis with a focus on proactive identification of events/issues that affect service delivery.
  • Install, configure, patch, maintain, and allocate appropriate technologies (e.g. software, servers/databases/ network/storage)
  • Lead Senior Engineers and refine best practices models to meet service delivery SLA’s of a managed private cloud solution.
  • Design and implement hosting technologies, self-service tools, automation and development operations infrastructure.
  • Manage deployed components across multiple operating systems and hardware topologies.
  • Perform product roadmap and release planning of managed hosting technologies for managed private cloud service offering.
  • Provide capacity planning estimates and forecasts for managed private cloud solution offering.
  • Create and improve managed backup and disaster recovery service offerings.
  • Assess new products and services that can improve delivery of managed hosting services and expand service catalog.
  • Work as a team lead and coach less experienced staff service delivery and infrastructure best practices.
  • Provide root cause analysis for managed hosting service delivery related issues.  Identify architectural and process changes to increase reliability and capability of service offerings.
  • Assist with commercialization of solution catalog offerings and develop recovery models and tools.
  • Manage research and development efforts and special projects such as product suites, third party applications, upgrades, and modifications to the environment
  • Provide level 3 escalated support using internal service desk system through troubleshooting and implementing known fixes for engineering environments and/or general infrastructure related items as necessary
Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a distributed team environment and set own work direction to achieve team goals.
  • 10+ years experience leading a distributed infrastructure engineering team.
  • Significant experience designing and executing deployments of complex multi-tier line of business applications.
  • 2-5 years experience designing and implementing solutions in the public cloud (AWS, Azure and Google)
  • 2-5 years experience designing and implementing high availability multi-tenant virtualization solutions.
  • Experience designing the physical layer of a virtualization solution including hypervisors, network and shared storage technology.
  • Experience with designing the infrastructure architecture and the organizational approach required to manage the ongoing development and delivery of infrastructure, helping organizations prepare business cases for infrastructure investments.
  • Experience with assessing infrastructure to identify high level business goals that they must support, documenting limitations which prevent organizations from achieving goals, assessing their current ability to support businesses and recommending improvements, quick-hit opportunities and near-term timelines.
  • Strong deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelors degree
