The North America Payroll Manager manages overall service delivery of payroll services delivered across multiple locations, serves as an escalation point to resolve customer issues, and is responsible for managing and developing team members through performance assessment and training of those individuals, utilizing their deep knowledge of operational procedures, policies and management experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Involved in objective setting for the payroll team, budget development and defines operational policies and participates in the management of transformation activities to improve efficiencies in service delivery to meet client requirements
  • Accountable for developing and managing key internal external client relationships across sphere of influence, including situations in which no relationship previously existed
  • Identifies business development opportunities and communicates them to senior management
  • Provides education guidance to senior clients or HR services management, shares knowledge across organizational boundaries and acts as a role model within HR services Accountable for client satisfaction in area of responsibility, against service level agreement, and ensures achievement of key performance indicators project milestones
  • Responsible for communication of strategy, initiatives, local plans and performance metrics across own area of responsibility
  • Initiates and promotes continuous improvement programs across sphere of influence
  • Provides direction to the payroll services personnel through objective setting and overall performance management in order to meet contract requirements customer expectations SLAs
  • Accountable for performance against financial parameters, monitors and reports on budgetary aspects within own area
  • May have significant input to budget setting financial proposals and reviews
  • Provides guidance in the development of training curriculum for payroll personnel and approve individual training plans

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a Payroll and/or Human Resources outsourcing environment
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory leadership experience
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experiencing managing a complex payroll 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Strong cost management experience
  • Solid project management experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving and escalation management abilities
  • Multi-state complex payroll experience
  • Basic understanding of HR, Benefits and Time Processing
