Role: ANZ Statutory Specialist

Description

  • Responsible for helping to ensure all internal and external statutory reporting requirements are met

  • Responsible for helping to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the country's financial reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards, and within fixed deadlines

  • Ensure that the Country's local tax filings are complete, accurate and meet all local tax office requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing published statutory accounts for Accenture and acquired entities

  • Supporting Controller in preparation of IFRS convergence, maintain/update of documentation and analysis regarding ongoing IFRS compliance

  • Supporting Controller to manage integration of acquisition activities including internal operation matters and statutory filing requirements

  • Maintain a deep knowledge/skills in accounting, financial, GAAP and/or internal controls

  • Coordinate with other controllership functions (e.g., CFM – engagement reviews, engagement issues)

  • Supporting changes and process improvements leading to implementation, replacement, or upgrading of systems to reduce costs and improve profitability, and/or meet legislative requirements

  • Maintain, and monitor adherence to Company policies and procedures

  • Review/approve various journal entries/adjusting entries

  • Act as key liaison with firm’s internal and external auditors for Australia and New Zealand

  • Review of monthly Management Income Statement and Balance Sheet and ensure necessary adjustments are identified, resolved, and corrected on a timely basis

  • External Relationships:  Auditors

Qualifications

  • Education:  Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Recommended Certifications, Licenses, etc:  ASCPA or CA

  • Work Experience:  6+ years financial/management accounting and local statutory experience

  • Work Requirements:  Dependent upon whether job is located in country, specific work requirements may be documented at the position level
