Network / Firewall Engineer
Kuala Lumpur
Job No. 14014108
Full-time - Hybrid
Descrição
As the Senior Network & Firewall Engineer, you will be responsible for the connectivity and security architecture of our Shared Services infrastructure. You will manage the end-to-end network configuration required for server onboarding, including VLAN assignment, firewall rule implementation, and load balancing. Your goal is to ensure high availability and seamless communication between cross-functional environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Provisioning: Configure and manage switches, routers, and virtual networks to support new server deployments and office expansions.
- Firewall Management: Design, implement, and audit firewall policies (Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco ASA) to ensure "least privilege" access for all new services.
- VLAN & IPAM: Manage IP address allocation (IPAM) and VLAN tagging to ensure proper network segmentation and traffic isolation.
- Connectivity Troubleshooting: Resolve complex routing and switching issues, performing packet captures (Wireshark) to identify bottlenecks or blocks.
- VPN & Remote Access: Maintain and scale Site-to-Site VPNs and Client VPNs for secure third-party and remote employee access.
- Change Management: Work closely with the Technical Lead to document network changes and ensure all modifications adhere to the corporate change control process.
Requisitos
Technical Requirements
- Core Networking: 5+ years of experience with enterprise-grade networking (Cisco CCNA/CCNP level or equivalent).
- Security Expertise: Hands-on experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)—specifically creating policies, NAT rules, and SSL inspection.
- Protocol Proficiency: Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, STP, and 802.1Q VLAN tagging.
- Load Balancing: Experience with F5 Big-IP, Citrix ADC, or similar (preferred for Shared Services).
- Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG to monitor network health.
Soft Skills
- Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work closely with Linux/Windows engineers to diagnose if a "connection timed out" error is a network issue or a server configuration issue.
- Precision: Extreme attention to detail—understands that a single incorrect firewall rule can impact the entire Shared Services platform.
