 You Are:

You are a senior health strategy leader with a deep understanding of Canada’s health system and the forces shaping the private health sector. You bring experience advising senior executives on enterprise-wide strategic decisions and transformations, helping organizations define where to play, how to win, and how to transform in an increasingly complex and constrained environment.

You have a strong track record delivering strategic advisory services across areas such as:

  • Corporate and growth strategy
  • Strategic and multi-year planning
  • Care model and service delivery innovation
  • Workforce strategy and operating model design
  • Public-private collaboration and ecosystem strategy
  • Mergers, acquisitions, and partnership strategy
  • Process automation

You are comfortable operating at the intersection of policy, strategy, operations, and innovation, translating system-level dynamics into actionable strategies for  providers, payers, and other private sector health organizations.

Your experience is rooted in the Canadian health system and has been further shaped through consulting and advisory roles supporting both public and private health sector clients. You are adept at navigating ambiguity, structuring complex problems, and guiding senior leaders through transformational change.

You are curious, outcomes-driven, and motivated by the opportunity to help health organizations re-think how care is delivered, funded, and enabled for the future.

The Role:

• The Manager will play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering transformational programs across private health ecosystems including insurers, TPAs, PBMs, pharmacies, virtual care, life sciences and health-tech organizations.

• You will drive strategy development, operating model redesign, experience transformation, ecosystem partnerships, digital modernization, and data/AI-enabled solutions.

• The role is critical in supporting growth of our Private Health portfolio, building capabilities, and strengthening our leadership position in the Canadian market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple client workstreams across payer operations, benefit administration, claims, adjudication, pharmacy benefit management, provider network strategy, utilization management, patient support programs and digital/member experience.

• Structure complex problem statements, develop hypotheses, define analysis approaches, and synthesize insights to create executive-ready recommendations.

• Design and deliver Target Operating Models encompassing people, process, technology, governance, and data - aligned to client strategic goals and market forces.

• Drive modernization initiatives such as modular PBM migration, claims automation, real-time adjudication enhancements, cost containment levers, and ecosystem/API integration.

• Lead business case development including value sizing, cost modeling, risk assessment, and ROI tracking.

• Manage multi-disciplinary teams (onshore/offshore), ensuring execution excellence, sustained quality, and proactive issue/risk management.

• Oversee project financials, change control, deliverables, stakeholder engagement, and governance cadence (RAID, SteerCos, communications).

• Collaborate closely with technology, operations, and data leaders to translate strategy into executable roadmaps and solutions.

• Support sales origination efforts by leading proposal sections, solutioning delivery models, and presenting content in orals.

• Contribute to asset development, accelerators, playbooks and thought leadership for Canada Health and North America Health practices.

Here’s what you need:

• 7+ years of consulting, payer, PBM, pharmacy, virtual care, or TPA experience with a strong focus on private health operations, strategy, or digital transformation.

• Proven experience leading complex strategy or transformation engagements with measurable impact (cost-to-serve, member experience, medical/pharmacy cost, operational throughput).

• Deep understanding of Canadian private health ecosystem: adjudication platforms, regulatory considerations, provincial adjudication nuances, formulary management, provider contracting, benefit plan design, and pharmacy operations.

• Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and drive team health, performance, and growth.

• Strong financial acumen including project financial management and business case development.

• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive stakeholder management skills.

• A University Degree is required for this position

Leadership Expectations

• Ability to coach junior team members, shape team culture, and model Accenture’s Leadership Essentials.

• Demonstrated capability to drive client value creation, strengthen relationships, and identify pathways for account expansion.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and influence without authority across multi-stakeholder environments.

• Strong commercial mindset including proposal development, deal shaping, and pipeline contribution.

Additional Context:

• This role directly supports the expansion of our Private Health portfolio and strengthens our ability to meet emerging market needs (e.g., PBM modernization, digital pharmacy, integrated benefits ecosystems, care navigation, patient support programs).

• Candidates should bring both strategy capability and pragmatic delivery orientation – able to move from conceptual design to mobilization and implementation oversight.

• Familiarity with ecosystem players (insurers, third-party administrators, specialty pharmacy providers, retail pharmacy networks, benefit managers, and digital health platforms) is a strong asset.

• Experience collaborating with technology teams on platform modernization, data strategy, analytics, and AI‑enabled solutions is preferred.

• This role provides opportunities to lead national initiatives, contribute to thought leadership, and shape market-facing offerings across Health.
