Job Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Mainframe Developer with experience in Cards domain applications, specifically Cardlink systems. The role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe-based card processing applications in a banking environment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, and JCL, along with exposure to SDLC and change management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Cardlink-based mainframe applications
- Write and support COBOL, CICS, Easytrieve, and JCL programs
- Work on VSAM, sequential datasets, and NoSQL-based data processing
- Support end-to-end card processing functionalities in mainframe environment
- Collaborate with QA, business analysts, and support teams for requirement delivery
- Perform unit testing, system testing support, and defect fixing
- Participate in production support and incident resolution activities
- Follow SDLC processes and adhere to change management guidelines
- Maintain technical documentation for developed solutions
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in mainframe application development
- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and Easytrieve
- Experience working on Mainframe z/OS environment
- Knowledge of Cardlink or similar card processing systems
- Familiarity with VSAM, sequential datasets, and basic NoSQL concepts
- Banking domain experience with understanding of SDLC and change management tools
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in Cards domain (credit/debit card processing systems)
- Exposure to production support in mainframe environments
- Knowledge of performance tuning in COBOL/CICS applications
- Familiarity with banking transaction processing systems
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Basic understanding of batch processing and scheduling tools
